I think the Ohio thing is great. 1. It's just the right amount of a jab without being totally disrespectful and 2. being a traditionalist, I secretly don't mind the mind term as it used to be common to refer to Ohio State as just Ohio.

That said, Michigan is a complete mess. Hoke is only looks OK when in comparison to RichRod and that's not saying much. I think it's time for them to move on.

Michigan is a prime example of what will happen if teams stop scheduling G5 teams. The Michigan's and USC's of the world no longer have the huge advantage they used to have on the field.

I"m new to Ohio, but I heard that every Michigan coach since Bo Schembechler has called OSU "Ohio" to needle them. Is that true or not?

That isn't correct (Hoke is the first), but it's not really any different than Ohio State fans referring to Michigan as the State Up North (which we do a lot).

@ HeartofDixie. Michigan needs somebody. Les "Tasty Grass" Miles would be a serious upgrade. But honestly I don't know that LSU would let him go. I think that at the end of the day, they pull a Bama and break the bank to get an NFL coach and an all-star staff. The AD can't afford to go the route of unproven guy at major football level.

Playing Morris at QB and Gardner at receiver solves two problems. I know he came in cold in the rain and threw a pick.

The recent trend at Michigan of playing the worst throwing QB on the team is crazy.The running game has improved Gardner has regressed. The worst thing Hoke could do is stick with Gardner.

If LSU goes 8-4 this season then Miles knows that the LSU folks will be out for blood without an SEC West title the next year. I think he might see the handwriting on the wall and jump ship before he gets fired.

Hoke's best teams were built by Rich Rodriguez, and he's steadily regressed since. IMO both Brady Hoke and Will Muschamp are dead men walking. They'll both be gone by season's end.

I think Michigan would be better off hiring the Mississippi State instead of the LSU coach but Hoke is toast. I could see Michigan hire greg schiano if either harbaugh turn's it down.
