Indiana scored the go ahead with 22 seconds left. Too many drops by Mizzou receivers.

via the transitive property, BG could contend for the SEC East and the B1G is clearly 50 points ahead of the SEC.

But I thought getting blown out by Missouri was better than winning a game over Northwestern...

Me too...that combined with Miami being able to go toe-to-toe with Cincy really made our losses look very pedestrian.

If you thought that, then you're an idiot.
(I know your post was sarcasm, but I figured that was a nicer way of calling you an idiot. There was no one saying, or even implying, that losing to Missouri was better than beating NW).

All-SEC DE Markus Golden didn't play against Indiana because of a hamstring injury(remember the Mizzou player that kept beating the snap).

But this is Indiana we're talking about...in a game played at Mizzou. Time for us to just forget the blowout loss to the Tigers--no more rationalizing it-it didn't symbolize anything other than we lost. To paraphrase a theme from UT basketball threads: game's gone--move on.

Come'on guys even the ESPN play by play guys commented on playing
good teams early in the schedule are better than bad ones, because they
help you improve. You don't really learn much by beating a bad team.

I'm just saying that, at best, we are a pretty average football team continuing a recent trend of being a very average football program. We are certainly not on the cusp of being a "top 25" contender, let alone the "special season" almost all of us have jointly dreamed of for years now. The good news is that this season a very average football team will win not only the MAC West but the MAC championship, as well, which means we're still on track.

RE: Indiana Beat Missouri
I think that yesterday's scoreboard of MAC games and games of former opponents just confirmed that from top to bottom the MAC is pretty much down this year right across the board. With the abundance of ineptitude spread across the entire league this year I look for a wide open race for the MACC with the Rockets being just one of a number of teams in the hunt. In the absence of having any really good teams in the league this year, I suspect that in the end the MACC winner will come down to the team that shows the least ineptitude.

I don't think of the 2004 Rockets as being one of the better Rocket teams yet they are the last Rocket team to win the MACC and they did it by being the least inept team when it came to conference play---that and a little help from Bruce and Scooter McDougle.

You cannot compare week to week. I have seen graphics were, for example, an Ivy league average team can beat a ranked opponent based on head to head. Yale beat x who beat y who beat z who beat South Carolina. Therefore, Yale would beat South Carolina. REALLY!

RE: Indiana Beat Missouri
Cmu will finish third in the mac west most likely and they have been beaten badly by Syracuse and Kansas. Last season Toledo was 3rd in the west and we at least go to OT with one or beat one. Big lack of offense in this league this season. I think besides NIU we have to be the favorite considering we have been consistant offensively vs. SEC, AAC, MAC, and FCS. Large variety of teams that all play different styles of football. Our D needs to improve but steps were taken and redzone stops occured frequently. Edwards and Banks are veterans but didnt kill us like we do to everyone else.
