Who was the genius that started it ?

It was probably the student section and the MSOS.

It started in the northwest corner actually

a group that was sitting to the left of us in 112 started it.

RE: The Wave!?!?
I haven't read the board since Saturday. I posted that during the game. I stand by it. Yes, I know I'm always known for complaining on this board.

I stand by what I said. The wave was just really poorly timed and stupid. Like I said, its less of an issue because we won. It's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but its worth mentioning.

And they definitely didn't do it because they were bored. They were having a ball the entire game. They were probably some of the more enthusiastic fans I saw at the game. We need more like them and I hope they will be back! I do agree with the point about atleast waiting until we're on defense if the game is still close but like so many said, it was started during a prolonged break in the game due to changing out the chains.

Tell them to start it when we are on defense next time.

We want more fans.....right? Well, it seems like they've got to come from the younger generations. Can't coerce more old farts into coming to the games.

The parking will be more difficult and traffic is going to be more congested.

Plus the music will be different and some might even take their shirts off in public. Undoubtedly, they will be more energized, i.e. they won't mind jumpin up and sitting down ten times a minute no matter which line is on the field.

Lastly, ,many of them don't even understand Football nuances that kept you guys in attendance all these years.

Sorry. But on the up side, we very gung ho and going to do our very best to support Tiger FB. 04-cheers

The extra fans were a real drag on us. Most of my group bring their kids to the game. When we are 0-12 there is a ton of room for them to run around and act like kids. There were so many people in our section Saturday I had to make my kids stay in their seats and behave, it was a bummer.

You just stand your ass up...lol. It'll be good for you. Get your buddy next to you to bring one of those little acupuncture devices that works manually and sends a short electronic burst. Puts a little shock anywhere you want. Works good.

I think 3/4s of the people on this board have bad knees.

That, I know a little about. Acupuncture can help and joint formulas. I've got a friend who is 57 who actually plays BB with the JUCO BB players. I make them promise to go easy on him, but he's so competitive he goads them into playing harder when they don't guard him.

Stuff can be done for bad knees is my main point and maybe for some it can't. But irregardless, things are changing...Memphis Tigers got Football. Some of the fans don't know all that much about it. It's not like they've watched very much, you know..and I don't see how we can deny them their fun. They outnumber us, thankfully.

While you are being silly- I got assailed by the thug crew for basically asking for consideration by all fans- in asking them to try and wait for the one of hundreds of natural breaks in the action before they waltz in front with butts in my face.

From the ridiculous just stand up for them (we do) to the completely fantastical gee you must not want kids to use the bathroom.

Consideration works both ways. We try and enter our seats during one of the hundreds of breaks in the action ourselves.

If the thug crew turns on you- you will really get it for your clear point (being facetious here) that you hate children- at least per those looking to score points.

Consideration eh? How about the consideration to not dump charcoal and ashes all over a $50 rental.

Who is the thug crew? Eat a bag of fat ones.

I don't unnerstand. They don't use Tobey Park? Is that where all the bones be?

Oh, you meant the Liberty Bowl game? I don't go to that, and I don't walk my dog in the cold of December, so I couldn't say.

Now, the SHC folks party in nearly every bit of Tobey, all the way to the north end, so there is trash everywhere. I don't think there is much tailgating in Tobey during a Tiger game any more except up on the Central Avenue side, and I don't walk that far south in Tobey.

I agree. I was like ... "This is STUPID!" with a capital "S". We're in the 2nd quarter trying to put additional points on the board in the event MTSU tries to rally as they had done in the past two games and these guys are completely ignoring the game for "A Darn WAVE" ... 01-wingedeagle

I imagine the Tiger players were a little astonished at it all ...
