There had better be a Howitzer there this week. No excuses...it is not that hard to get one. BYU had one so it can be done.

We need to have a packed stadium early. Then let the visitors take the field first. Then we take the field about 3 minutes before kick off !!! That way the momentum carries right into kickoff !!!

I could see a lot of people with issues with getting off work early enough (and depending where they're coming from) to get there in time to get a good tailgate in. I suspect people will be rolling in late or not going all out tailgating like they are used to.

Well, there's a difference. BYU owns their howitzer, we don't.

We don't need no Howitzer. We need Bobby Hollywood and the fat shirtless dancing Ynot guy.

RE: MTSU game #5
We have a issue that most fans have never knew about TH... TH never leads the team out of the locker room and down the field (tunnel) pregame. TH and the other captains walk unnoticed 5 min before the game down the sideline and wait for the other team to run out, then join the refs and the visiting team captains for the coin toes.

I would like to see the team and our captains run out together!!!!

Most ODU fans do not visit this site, most are unaware of the site I run.

Our athletic department cannot pull off what some of you want on their own.

My suggestion is to those of you who are passionate about the gameday experience is to take a more active role. Create a dedicated site or Facebook page where you could provide weekly updates. If you wanted to you could guest post on odubleedblue with important information such as the whiteout or card flip or any other ways to mobilize the 20k fans at each game.

Just my two cents.

Oh all my friends on Facebook are aware of what goes on with ODU football. I'm sure most block me on Saturdays when I bombarded them with ODU scores and play by play during the game. Even more fun to rub it in to my VT friends when we win and they lose (as is becoming a trend lately) 04-rock

Most of my friends are well aware of odu football, but that's because they were all in marching band. I'd be disappointed if they didn't. haha

well....time for a fund raising campaign. We could honor Lt. Col Kerns and his family by dedicating the Howitzer in his memory. That would be an awesome gesture. I will donate to the cause today if asked.

For the first time since starting my current job, a day off and an ODU home game sync up. Family has a tailgate going. What should I expect?

Rice as the defending CUSA Champs had a pathetic crowd. I would suspect some of the best atmosphere in CUSA will be the next two weeks in Norfolk.

Says a lot about Monarch Nation!

All the empty seats was very noticeable at Rice. I'm sure we'll do better filling S.B Ballard (even if it is only ~ half the size)

If we have a good showing, this will lead to more Nationally Televised Games.
Also, Those Bowl pickers will be looking on to see what kind of fan base ODU has following. Good Following = $$$$$$$$$

Here is the Blue Raiders Prospective:

Can't seem to find out much about Blue Raider injuries. I guess they have none. Seems a little strange.

Was it my browser or is that article hard to read with the font blending into the background?

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but aside from getting a leg up on the CUSA East division race, and notching their first home conference victory, a win Friday night would give ODU Football 50 wins in just 65 games since 2009. No matter the level of competition, (and it has gotten tougher each season) that is truly a spectacular achievement.

GO MONARCHS!!!
