I guarantee those aren't the only P5 places with some empty seats.

If UConn has a few seats open in a hurricane on a Thursday night, the college football world comes down hard on us. But being in the P5 seems to insulate schools from criticism like this.

I'm just saying it's a double standard. If Kansas, Syracuse, or Oregon State have empty seats, nothing is said.

But if UConn, Memphis, or Colorado State have empty seats, the football programs are mocked for having a lack of interest.

I've seen Miami-FL and the ACC Championship games get a ton of flack over the years for their attendance issues, so not sure what you are talking about.

In general, attendance is declining in college football across the board. No one should be expanding their stadiums right now.

The ACC championship game has been ridiculed a lot for empty seats. That situation has become legendary.

But no one points out regular season attendance issues for P5 schools like they do for G5 schools.

I'm don't think they are pointed out less overall. It is here on CSNBBS, but that's because it's still very realignment focused and those things matter more for teams looking to move to different conferences than teams already set.

If you go outside of here and look at conference specific or team specific message boards, you'll see a lot more of it at P5 conference programs (or G5 if they are regional rivals or in-conference opponents). I saw Penn State fans laughing at Pitt earlier today on the Scout board because of Pitt's attendance.
