Lashlee will take career guidance from Malzahn. Malzahn would more than likely advise him to look for a spot where he is certain he can win in year one. Not sure Troy is that place.

I could be wrong but I believe there were rumors about Lashlee interviewing at GS last year before we hired Fritz.

I doubt there is any question about his fate unless there is some incredible run to finish the year.

I'm not a huge proponent of the early trigger pull. If you end up with an interim and they do well, you've got the players and some fans wanting to keep them and if you don't you magnify the hard feelings during a stressful time.

The odds are against being able to hire someone and have a press conference by December 1, though it can be done. But you certainly aren't likely to announce a new coach prior to December 1.
