THAT alone blows my mind.

It us not very fair that Birmingham (and therefore by relation, UAB) got a new baseball stadium and "Oure Bealovvead Chrimsun Tahhd has to play in that rendown down not remodeled in the past 8 years hunk o crap Sewell Thomas Field !

I mean, it just isn't fair at all that my ugly step sister got a brand new gown to wear to the ball and I have to wear this same one from last year. What is a girl to do but get Daddy to buy me a new one. [Voice off]. 03-puke

Seems the the that I saw was a Karen Humphrey. Not sure about last name, but the ladies first name was Karen.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say or refer to, but the Karen you saw was Karen Brooks, who has been on the Board for quite a while, who has been elected as President Pro Tem.

If you read my original post I just ask if the lady that was named pres pro tem was a new appointment or was she already on the board.

Karen Brooks has been on the Board for quite a while. The only new member was Barbara Humphrey, a UAB graduate

RE: BOT
Biggest question will be does she stand up for UAB/UAH or does as she's told so the BOT continues to run as it has?

Connections to all 3 campuses. Hopefully that makes for a fair & balanced trustee.

Now, if we had about 12 more just like her.

Certainly an interesting selection. Hopefully we can count on her to be solidly in UAB's corner as a former athlete that has a son on the team.

It won't matter if she is. They picked her because she has zero political power and her husband is a three time bammer all American.

That was my point as well - will she "develop a pair" & stand up for what she knows is wrong or will she just rubber stamp what "they" tell her to

If I had to guess it will be the latter unfortunately.

RE: BOT
It's moot. She can dye her hair green and show up wearing pompoms. Best case scenario, we've only replaced one dependable UAB supporter for another. One vote.

When Cubby retires and they replace him with Walt Maddox, then we might be getting somewhere.

Very true. I suspect Maddox might be on to bigger things than the BOT by the time he retires though05-stirthepot
