And they've called us UCF. In my book it just shows how crappy that reporter or person is that wasn't professional enough to learn the correct name etc.

It's funny how they don't mistake on their chosen favorites. Never once heard espin call ohio st "Ohio" they wouldn't dare make that mistake

I think what most peoples gripe is the whole directional thing where instead of ECU or East Carolina they market us as E. Car or with USF S. Florida. We are trying to be branded as ECU and with ESPN not marketing us as such it creates confusion. Our president and AD have talked to ESPN about using our name as ECU but so far this is what we have. I wonder if danny thomas is regretting his decision now.

Remember they are ESPN which is synonomous with GOD in TV Land. MT has never referred to ourselves as "Middle Tennessee State" but ESPN always does. They will do whatever they want to do unless you are in the CARTEL 5. This why all G-5 conferences need a Deal with Fox, CBS, NBC, or somebody other than ESPN.

We are still branding our selves as East Carolina. That is why East Carolina is on the jerseys and field. We only go by ECU when East Carolina will not fit. Similar to Georgia and UGA or Virginia Tech (VT) or Virginia (UVA).

All the Carolina schools are E. CAROLINA OR S. CAROLINA OR N. CAROLINA. There is no unequal treatment. I rather be doing the same thing on the scoreboard as South Carolina and North Carolina and that way we are seem as equals.
