My generation's biggest failing is that we all actually believe we are special. We are the generation that will have a lower standard of living than our parents and that isn't our fault.

There is resentment of the boomer generation and it is rightfully earned. The boomer generation was the one of prosperity, fresh starts, sexual liberation, etc and ours is unemployment, debt, broken families, and decline.

i always thought you were like 60

This is like the third time we've had this conversation.

I'm still in my 20s.

so you are like 28-29???

Yup, late 20s.

i'm gonna say 29COGS

The lazy generation is evident. See # 5, 31.1 percent of American young adults in the 18 to 34-year-old age bracket are currently living with their parents. That is just incredible.

There are a few that I've worked with that got a job for around 40k coming out of college, decided to move back home and put about 50% of their check into retirement accounts and savings accounts. Few year later, moved out on their own with a good bit saved up.

Yeah, I see a lot of that too and that is not a decision that either shows or fosters maturity. Unfortunately they would rather sacrifice their self-actualization and dignity for some comfort and luxury. A couple of months to up a security deposit and get on one's feet is one thing. A few years is pathetic. A product of pornography to be honest. Can you imagine not having your own place at 22 years old, particularly when you actually have a job?

I'm curious as to your theory on this.

Your left wing brain limits your ability to make any inferences or conclusion. Why do you think people these days are well into their 30s before actually growing up?

RE: 50 Facts That Show How Far America Has Fallen In This Generation
I don't agree with the statement on it's face. Just because you decide to pick fairly arbitrary milestones to decide whether or not a person is 'grown up' doesn't make it so. The fact you're ignorant to just how constant the sentiment you're expressing has been throughout history is pretty humorous though.

"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers." Aristophones 423 B.C.

Of course, why would you address up a cogent argument? It's a lot easier just not thinking about why you believe the things that you do.

It is a theory based on personal observation. There is no reason not to think it.

There's a reason to actually look into the evidence supporting or disproving it, at least there is to someone who gives a rats ass about actually understanding societal shifts in regards to a historical continuum.

I'd rather be the judge.

A judge would take a reasoned approach to making a decision, and would certainly go out of their way to become educated on a matter before deciding it. What you're describing is 'being a child'.

What I am describing is knowing whether to get involved, associate, or do business with someone based on the looks of them. I used to take the same approach as you and my life got much better and easier when I switched to the new method. As far as the OP, the stats confirm my observations, which prevail in absence of any other information. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is probably a duck.

Listen, I get it, I used to think the same way. It's easy, doesn't require any complex thought processes, and quite frankly, it takes actual effort to overcome because our brains are simply wired to work that way. The problem is, when you're not critical of your own beliefs and views, you tend to start accepting any evidence which supports your views at face value. These 'stats' in the OP? Yeah, they're nonsense and nowhere near sourced well enough to actually take as facts, but you take them as such because it's easier.
