Because do you even know who the F you are giving weapons to?

A few friends of mine in Erbil have been telling me that the Kurdish Government is not happy about the plans because the people in Syria that Obama and his braindead crew wish to arm hate them, and the Kurdish communities already besieged in Syria, as much as they do Assad or IS.

So, the US is creating fresh problems! Round of applause for dumb*** American foreign policy!

We need remote kill switches on any weapons provided.

Any weapons we provide can and will be used against us at some future date.

We're going down the same road that has led to disaster before.

I have my doubts that this will work either, and Obama will and should get the blame if it goes south, but let's not pretend that this is just him and his crew that desire this plan.

I'm not so sure there is any "sound Syria plan" save for allowing them to continue to kill each other while we watch..........

Pick your poison. Pretty sure we'll wind up fighting later whoever we support now anyway.

Arming brother against cousin when we are the world. How's that ever going to work?

Probably the main thing that makes no sense is our need to train them! Most of these guys are ex-military and have been fighting in the Syrian Civil War, daily, for quite awhile. How much training do they actually need?!?

Well, considering they haven't won the war yet, I'd say they could use some training. Now, us doing it is anothe topic.

To avoid a lot of the political ramblings, I think we can all agree, left and right, that this is a bad idea.

Agreed; however, not sure there is a "good idea" considering all the players at the table. Just doing nothing isn't really an option when our citizens are being beheaded.

But this is the inevitable result of limited wars.

We need to pick one and go at it the right way. Overwhelming force applied with overwhelming power and brutality, permissive ROEs, kill everybody that needs killing, blow up everything that needs blowing up, and leave with the message that you don't want to see us come back. I don't think this is the one.

Bipartisan support. Lol

They chose to be there. I admire their journalistic adventurism, but question their sanity. I won't visit places where someone might lop off my head.

Doesn't this just scream special ops to you? I think we can hurt these guys without a sustained presence on the ground. We paint a laser on a group of these guys and daisy cut their camps. Every time they behead someone and make a propaganda movie. They get ten daisy cutters in a camp on ten different days. They now start walking around.... Is today Daisy Cutter day? Maybe that will start a different thought process on beheading people. We let them know the score with extreme prejudice.

It is almost certainly going to create an even worse problem for us. The so called "moderates" don't even like us because we left them to be slaughtered since 2011.
