New BB Asst Coach?
Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein
UAB's Jerrod Haase has hired Chattanooga's Turner Battle as an assistant, source told @CBSSports. Replaces Richie Riley, who is at Clemson.

I learned more about him from this thread than I did from that hack job by Crenshaw. Pathetic.

Hope the University of Alabama OF Birmingham is a good choice for him. I wonder what league play in. Speaking of which, does anyone know who the next assistant coach will be?

Ironic thing is that he played and then was an assistant coach for new UAT assistant(fired Buffalo head coach) Weatherspoon. The UAT coach was known as an early offense innovator of fast paced play.

Maybe he is a speed it up guy also.

As a player......Selected this year as one of top student athletes in history of the University of Buffalo. Class act. Academic all-American. Student of the game. After his pro career ended with a serious injury while playing in Europe, Battle has spent the last six plus years working on honing his coaching skills. Battle is especially experienced and knowledgeable at the point guard position and has helped in the development of a number of point guards in his short career. He has provided accurate scouting reports while preparing his team for a variety challenging opponents while at Buffalo and Chattanooga. His role on game day has been instrumental in making helpful adjustments. His strong work ethic and will to succeed are as strong as any. He is a humble gentleman who is the type of man who parents and student athletes trust in the recruiting. His strengths are many. Strong, positive relationships with his players are very important to him. He cares. All of these traits are secondary to his efforts as a husband and father.

Sounds like we made the right choice.
