Domestic Violence and the NFL meets THE TIME MACHINE
So now the "make up the rules as we go" NFL is looking into an alleged abuse which occured in 2006???

http://abc7chicago.com/sports/new-accusa...--/313108/

Quote:Attorney Gloria Allred said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell failed while handling domestic violence allegations against Marshall in 2006, even though the victim's father and friend say they both contacted the commissioner directly. Now, Allred wants the NFL to adopt an investigative process as she uses the Bears player as an example.

Why stop there?

Btw, let me know when Big Ben is held accountable for raping multiple women...

RE: Domestic Violence and the NFL meets THE TIME MACHINE
Can you imagine all the jaded ex gfs who will now see this as a tool to get back at the baller who dumped them??

I understand the commish is in "save face mode" however he needs to hire a real panel of experts to help develop a standard policy to address this latest crave rather than swinging in the dark just to appease sponsors who threatened to remove the billion dollar carrot they dangle at the nfl.

Create a policy....stand by it...and HONOR that policy no matter what. Have a backbone and quit jumpng through hoops to get a dollar...

Wasn't Roethlesburger suspended by the NFL when the sexual assault stuff came out?

Domestic abuse is an issue that needs to be addressed. But i do not think it is the NFL's place to do so. They are setting a dangerous precedent that is going to come back and bite them in the ass. Some ex wife or former girlfriend who wants to get back at her ex can come out make the claim and a guys career is destroyed even if it is not ever proven. They should allow law enforcement to handle things and if there is a conviction then look at taking action.

This whole thing is silly. There are over 1800 players in the league and most of them are model citizens who never get into an ounce of trouble

Am starting to see what i feared. A wife or GF gets angry at player and yells abuse. He gets suspended without due process. We are walking a dangerous path with the society we live in. It is too easy to falsely accuse someone. They get punished and if cleared they still have been punished as if they were guilty.
