We've had our hopes for a breakthrough season dashed more than once by finishing on a low note. This year, we also have four games with Notre Dame ahead of us, so we can't afford to lose any games we're not supposed to.
So, what do ACC fans think about the Notre Dame relationship? It's always nice to play legitimate competition that attracts TV eyeballs. With Notre Dame ranked in the top-10, FSU, Louisville, UNC, and Syracuse each have a chance for a good win for the resume.
But, do potential losses to Notre Dame hurt the ACC's chances for the CFP?
BYU does not equal ND. ACC and SEC (both ESPN) say thanks but no thanks. Plenty of teams for you to play with in the Pac 12 and plenty of teams for you to play in the Big 12. Feel free to load up on MWC and AAC teams. Best of luck to y'all. I am rooting for Virginia but respect the heck out of BYU.
I feel bad that BYU is not recognized by P5. If there is only one program not in the P5, but should be, its BYU.
+1. BYU appears to be the best "non P5" team this year.
As for Notre Dame, I think it's just another difficult game on the schedule - great if you win but not if you lose. It is what it is.

RE: Huge weekend for the ACC
Very disappointing start to the weekend. While aware of Pitt's history, I saw the ACC-Big10 match-ups as:
Pitt over Iowa- Should happen
Syracuse over Maryland- Near toss-up but gave edge to Cuse at home
Miami over Nebraska- Possible but unlikely
Pitt can't hold the 10 point halftime lead and loses to an Iowa team that so far had barely beaten Ball St and an FCS while losing to previously winless ISU.
Cuse has 16 minutes left in the game but is down 18 at home.

Yea if Miami and UVA can't work some magic, we may need to change this title to "Horrible weekend for the ACC"

The ACC has 8 games OOC against FBS opponents. They will be clear favorites in 2 of those, Louisville and Duke. They will be a decided underdog in 1, UVa. That means there are 5 games that could easily go either way: WFU, Cuse, UNC, Pitt and Miami. Three of those are against the B1G. Lose them and you could need UNC to come up big against ECU and Wake to beat Army.
A 2-6 record is unlikely, but it's not out of the question, and the ACC has laid eggs before when we had the chance to get over the hump.
No more prophesying for you.
