I kid, I kid. Looking forward to playing you guys next year. Short trip and both programs are on the rise.

Make sure to bring Bill Curry with you. That would get the bammers wound up- lol

We already took him to Tuscaloosa in 2010 in our inaugural season...when he was still our coach.

Year 1: USA@UAB, TROY@USM
Year 2: UAB@TROY, USM@USA
Year 3: TROY@UAB, USA@USM
Year 4: UAB@USA, USM@TROY

It would put USA or TROY on our schedule every season. If all 4 school would go along with the contract that is.

What does USM have to do with it?

Someone has to be a 4th team to make the rotation work. I'm not sure I've ever seen a home and home work where the teams only played every other year. It was in response to what Blazerwkr said I just forgot to quote him on it to give context.

You will probably see more home-and-homes spread out over long periods of time as more conferences go to 9 conference games. For example, the Auburn game at Kansas State is a return game from 2007. A two game series spanned eight seasons.

He always seemed like a pretty nice guy when he was the coach at UA. He just didn't fit in there though.

I don't know about Georgia State's situation...but UAB close if not in the Top 3 in the conference for average attendance. 05-stirthepot

Kind of torn about this. On the one hand I want the P5 return games. On the other hand I want to play close by G5 games like UAB, Memphis, USF etc. So something has to give as more conferences go to 9 games.

Hiring Bill Curry got both the President - Joab Thomas - and "family" member AD Steve Sloan fired from their jobs. When it comes to Crimson Tide football, the BOT takes no prisoners. With both administrative supporters gone, and the new AD's first message that his buyout would be sharply reduced in his new contract, the "handwriting on the wall" was very clear to Curry - get out before you are kicked out - a la Mike Shula.

Gotta remember that Curry not only coached at GT but committed the unpardonable sin of having played for Coach Bobby Dodd. There was zero chance the old Bammers were going to overlook that.

If you want to know all that is wrong with public institutions, look no further.

I hope I don't live long enough to see UAB be a school where the football coach gets the president fired.

That brick through his living room window made the point as well.

Well, at least no greyhounds were injured, no insurance scams, no cars driven into Smith Lake, and no on-campus stadium plans mysteriously "buried." Just ask imjustagumpkid: We have the most ethical BoT ever!!!
