ECU/Virginia Tech Highest Rated Cable Original on Saturday
http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/09...Numbers%29

Only thing to beat us in the key demo was two episodes of The Big Bang Theory and in total viewers those two episodes plus Alvin And The Chipmunks

it was the best game on at the time regardless of who you were pulling for. underdog on the road against a ranked team with a lead holding off a comeback. good football game gets a good rating.

Over 2.5 million viewers for a noon ET. game. Boom! This from the team in one of the smaller if not the smallest TV market in the AAC. This is what we need, eyeballs. I can see us passing that .9 rating this week against UNC at 3:30. We win and we can draw more viewers to our conference games. UCF needs to start winning as does Houston. If we can get high ratings we will have ammo to go to the table with ESPN.

P5 my arse.

ECU has had strong ratings for years whenever we've played on national TV against a decent team. We tried for years to use this kind of data to get into the Big East. They wouldn't listen.

We always fought the Greenville NC TV DMA which is small. However, we get eyeballs and good ratings in large markets close by like Raleigh/Durham, Norfolk, Greensboro, and Charlotte. We have large alumni bases in each of these markets. Heck Raleigh/Durham is 1 hour away I go there every day for work. We could just as easily be considered in the Raleigh TV market.

People need to look past the home market and see ECU (and other schools in the AAC) brings tv viewers and exciting football. Several big schools in the SEC and ACC are located in small market DMA's too but that never seems to get brought up.

Hopefully Aresco is keeping up with all this stuff for the renegotiation in a few years.

Not on ESPNU.

A FEW NOTES: This is Nielsen so more than likely more that that watched. Also this doesn't account for any WatchESPN streams there may have been.

going against florida alabama at 3:30 will be tough to match up with as well, at least until florida is getting blown out at half time.

This is the evidence that makes me laugh at the "Metro Schools". If your Stadiums are not full, no one is watching on TV...that's the reality. If you're "in the country" with 50K in the Stands, They are watching all over the Country. Funny...

Disagree, last week we picked-up a few UNC fans and the odd State fan watching. This week, every UNC fan will be watch, VT fans, State fans (pulling against UNC), Duke, Wake fans, basically the entire state and half of Va. Some USCe fans will watching and pulling for us. Plus others around the county watching, at a better time for those west of us.

Good ratings, guys. I know the SEC Network isn't rated at the moment, so I don't know how UCF/Mizzou did at the same time, but I doubt we touched that number. ECU definitely had the best matchup at the time.

Not only that, but Blacksburg has no market either. All these city folk must've been spying on the pigskin game from their telly visions!

ESPNU is in at least 15 million less homes than ESPN

I don't know if Miami ever filled their stadium.

Its very difficult to compare games on other networks that reach different numbers of households...the question is always what is the number as compared to other numbers on that same channel and what is the comparison from the same slot on a different weekend.

Does anyone know the number for the Noon game the week prior on ESPN?

1.23 million viewers with a 0.4 in the demo for Mizzou/Toledo.
