BC - USC Game: Emotional Game Ball Presentation to Welles Crowther's Parents
I think most of you know Welles' incredible story. I thought I would post the emotional game ball presentation to his parents after the BC victory over #9 USC. For those of you who might not have seen the ESPN story on Welles, I included that as well.
As Steve Addazio notes, given all of the bad stuff that was in the news last week, it is good to be reminded of a story about a true American hero!

I love this. Steve Addazio is proving to be a great hire; he's passionate, is a good football man, and seems to have his priorities in order. He's constantly drilling BC's vision of molding 'men and women for others'. Makes me proud to be a BC man!

Maybe we should've hired Addazio instead of Golden.
I know that statement would probably make a lot of Canes fans happy if it were true...

As you watch these men stand up in public and make a statement about their values, contrast that with Jameis Winston standing on a table top making a public statement of his own. Who do you want teaching and setting an example for your children?

I don't want to indict anyone's program or any one player, but, I hope our conference will always be about building men of character as well as champions. The truth is that most of these young men will never make a living playing football. They've leveraged their athletic abilities for the opportunity to compete at the highest level, earn a meaningful degree, and build character through the college experience. If our schools can mold these young men to become successful, contributing members of society, then we should all be proud.
I like to think that Addazio has these priorities in mind. I know he's passionate about winning, but, it appears he's also passionate about building character in the young men given to his care. As a BC grad, I expect nothing less of my university. And, so far, I'm thrilled with what Addazio is bringing to the gridiron and in what I'm seeing he's instilling in the young men he's brought to Boston College. Time will tell, but, the early returns are very positive.

I've been impressed with Addazio ever since he came to BC.
