I read a piece yesterday that said water contamination does not happen from fracking, but from improperly built wells.

So basically, my view is allow it, but if a company ***** up their wells and contaminates drinking water, fine them out of existence.

This is great news!

If this is true than a lot of people need to line up for a serving of crow. For years any university group which dared to suggest that fracking might be safe was vehemently denounced as lackey's by the left.

UB had a Shale Resources and Society Institute which had to be shut down after they said that :state regulation in Pennsylvania had made drilling there far safer and that New York rules were even more likely to ensure safety once drilling gets under way in the state."

As you may be aware, New York State bans fracking.

You may also be aware that Buffalo was in danger of losing the Bills until Terry Pegula, who also owns the Sabres, bought the team, insuring it will stay in Buffalo, well forever.

What you may not know is that Pegula made his billions by buying up land in the Marcellus Shale corridor, a decade ago, and selling it now to be fracked.

The best part is when Chuckie Schumer and Andy Cuomo talk about how great Pegula is while supporting a ban on fracking. I love irony.

Hey Andy, who's your daddy?

The money behind it is insane. These guys become instant millionaires. I was at a conference where a guys neighbor was cashing million dollar royalty checks. This was in southern Ohio. You won't win against that. We just have to make sure it's as safe as it can possibly be. I did find it interesting that this was on the Finance page but not on the front page of Yahoo.

Lol, I've been saying this ever since the retarded dirtbags came out of the woodwork and tried to claim fracking is a problem. Matt Damon is a retarded dirtbag.

The anti-fracking crowd is about as scientifically accurate as the global warming alarmists. LOL

RE: Landmark fracking study finds NO water pollution. great news.
Even without water contamination, there is still a legitimate concern with fracking and that is water scarcity.

That isn't an issue in some places, but when the fracking water is put back into the ground for disposal, it is removed from the water cycle forever.

We've seen a steady decline in ground water throughout the central part of the country (mostly due to agriculture and Texas' growing population) and the Great Lakes have seen a steady decline in water levels.

This is something that will need to be addressed in the future. There are thousands of wells and the average well uses millions of gallons last I read. That is a lot of water.

Does anyone know why the water used for fracking cannot be recycled and used again to frack a new well?

Not so much.

It can. But I understand, this article is not even two years old, so how could you be expected to know about it? It's so much easier for you to parrot the false talking points you've been taught.

The study I read about declining lake levels was from the NOAA.

So?

Short term aberrations aren't the basis of good scientific conclusions, and certainly not policy.

NOAA barely does adequate meteorology and that's thanks to NASA. It's filled w/ dolts, and as an advocacy group it's on par with UCS or the Sierra Club.

This is what I've always said. The chances that fracking will cause problems below ground are so minute as to be ignored. But the way fracking chemicals are handled and disposed of on the surface can and does cause problems in many places. We do need tighter regulation (not more regulation, actually less regulation but tighter) of the top hole facilities.

The excitable liberals in Oklahoma want to eliminate the state's number one economic resource with no proof or logic.
