Cox picking up rights to ODU-RICE
Does this mean that those of us without Cox and have Direct TV will be denied the game? I think it does. If so that blows

"Cox Communications, the dominant cable provider in Hampton Roads, has acquired the rights to Fox Sports Networks broadcast of the ODU-Rice game. It will be available on Cox cable channel 110...."

RE: Cox picking up rights to ODU-RICE
Nice, my Saturday is really shaping up to be a good one. My son has a soccer double header in the morning and we'll be home just in time to make a pot of chili and turn on the game. Then a neighbor's wedding reception Saturday night.

Cox is dominant in terms of # subscribers, but certainly not dominant in terms of clarity of picture or customer service. Got to admit though, there ability to pick up local sports events far exceeds verizons. Verizon needs more local autonomy to compete with Cox. I get the impression all decisions are made at HQ, and there is no local discretion allowed.

Cox is dominant because in the beginning they created many rich people in the political classes. Technical considerations be damned.

Fox Sports net is showing the game but Cox does not carry that channel. Cox just bought the rights to show the game instead of adding that channel. It should still be on whatever fox sports channel it was going to be on as long as your cable package has that channel.

This is correct. It's really a matter of Cox not offering the channel.

probably not going to be in HD. I know I shouldn't complain about that, but it would be nice if it was.

Yeah, I set it to record as I'll be in Nasheville for a wedding. So I won't be opening tapatalk or Facebook until late Sunday night after I watch it.

MASN2 is an HD channel, but I don't think FSN broadcasts in HD and that'll be the main feed. so I have my doubts that it'll be HD.

A North Texas home game a couple of weeks ago was in full HD on FSN, so this should be the same.

If you are not watching on Cox you may be in luck. Cox put the game on the ODU Sports channel and said channel is not in HD.

Here in Richmond, the game is on MASN2.
On Comcast channels 19 regular and 844 HD,
and FIOS 79 regular and 579 HD
