You raise a good point... Why hasn't anyone mentioned JMU before? Seems like they would be at worst a decent fit...

Yeah, very odd indeed...

I feel as if I recall hearing them mentioned once a few years ago.

Chattanooga makes all the sense in the world from a geographic standpoint but not too much more can be said beyond that.

I doubt Chatty has any ambitions of ever moving up. Their stadium holds 20,600 and its never full. The most they have ever had there is 22,646 and that was 17 years ago in 1997 vs Tennessee State.

Someone said something about ETDU. The Bucs are just now getting football started again after dropping the sport in 2003. They just recruited their first class and will start playing again next year and rejoin the SoCon in 2016. They are going to build a new stadium instead of playing in the mini dome. And the stadium is only going to be 10K.

Appy and GA Southern fans can tell you what a nightmare the mini dome was. And not in a nightmare to play there. It was just an awful place.

JSU has a really good band too....sure to bring a good atmosphere. I went to there game last year vs GaState (the game where state's qb tried to spike the ball and had an epic fail moment)....point is...JSUs band owned the dome.

Jackson St would be a natural if they build a 50,000 seat dome as has been proposed.

Improbabilities regarding the stadium not withstanding, have they even said they want to move up? I've always been under the impression that to the majority of HBCU fans, their rivalries are more important than the prospect of FBS membership. I could be wrong, but I don't really ever recall any FBS chatter from any HBCU.

Florida A&M tried to move up and failed due to financial reasons. The Sun Belt had conditionally accepted them.

Alabama State has talked FBS and using Montgomery's Crampton Bowl.

If Jackson St gets a dome (unlikely), they would probably go FBS to justify it.
