Which sounds like crap we used to hear from UCF during the early days of USF's football program start-up. We also heard the same thing from ECU fans that we were light-years behind and would never catch-up. However, as you suggested we used the slights as motivation and UCF's narrow 3 point victory against USF's worst team ever was the first victory in nine tries between UCF and ECU combined. ECU may change that this year but....that is a different story and part of the Curse of Stealing Lou Holtz's son ;^)

BTW, if you want to point a finger at who is most responsible for the nasty beginning to USF and UCF's rivalry, it has to go to UCF's old AD, Steve Sloan and football coach who tried to at first talk down USF football from ever being born to then trying to bigtime USF into a 4- and then 2-game contract where all games would have been played at the Citrus Bowl. That not only pissed off our old AD Paul Griffin but our new Head Coach Jim Leavitt. Fortunately, both sides have better "professionals" making decisions and the tone is much more civil.
