As opposed to Peej Junior in Portage telling us to wear a faux blood-stained Kent State sweatshirt.

Yes, you're definitely riding the high road there, Casper.

I don't need to be your paradigm of virtue to what my peers wear on campus. Sorry that I don't think hippies need their faux revolution treated with the same reverence as the trail of tears.

When was the last time you were on campus?

The answer to your question: A LOT.

Proceeds from the t-shirt sale go to the student welfare fund, to help students who can't make ends meet. It will provide food and clothing for any student in need. Students helping students...something Dunn was happy to get behind.

Please, I see students walking around with gear from B1G colleges on campus. Don't try to sell us that people will want to walk around with a picture of his old mug on their chest. 03-rotfl

I'm sure this will bring a torrent of hate, but. I live in Kazoo and am on or near campus several times every week and the students do really like President Dunn. It is not unusual to see him walking with students talking to them. I have clear memory and haven't seen any president other than Elson Floyd that comes close in the last 54 years that I have seen.

I don't see why there would be torrent of hate. Most students have a very positive impression of President Dunn and I've never had an unpleasant interaction with the man. My brother who was here under Bailey has horror stories about her. The experiences are night and day.

Again, love the cause, great idea, love the students who are supporting it, think it is a great way to have our student body represent WMU, Dunn is a great President agreed!!!! Love the #tag on the back, wish every student wore their DUNN shirt everyday, washed or unwashed, shows great spirit. AGAIN for a GREAT CAUSE. Might as well throw Fleck and Kathy on it too I don't care.

Three pages later...wow you guys will discuss almost anything.

I find it interesting that Saturday's home game was declared a "brown out" game... and yet they are marketing this T-Shirt in Yellow for the game... somebody not kept in the loop here?

Back to my thoughts on the all the creative artistic minds we have on our campus and this is the design they came up with...again IMO.

A Brown Out???
That's different.

Lot of students complain about WMU for various reasons.
Dr. Dunn is not one of them.
It seems no one likes him here on this forum but there's a reason the students will chant "Dr. Dunn! Dr. Dunn!" when they see him at athletic events.

RE: The Dunn Zone
I think, other than usurping the football coaching hire from the department head and hiring someone who didn't fit the profile and clearly was not ready for the position, Dunn has been a fine president - especially by comparison to his predecessor.

He may not have been ready for the position, or the talent left, and not injured simply was too slim to generate wins.

But in the first two games of this year I thought the coaching and game prep was good. At least as good as what we saw in BC's last year where the team appeared lost and disinterested at times. Your thoughts Major?

I think the guy is great for WMU. Some people here are just still cheesed off about his football hire.

Seems like a nice idea. If they had something like this when i attended I would have checked it out.
Of course if it doesn't catch on, they can call the area the Dunngeon.

I'm great with the cause, it doesn't bother me eithe way....but it shows a great insight into the people in leadership positions at the school. Either this is Dunns idea, and his ego is laughable, or its someone in the athletic department who feels the need to brown nose big time for their own personal gain. Pretty funny either way.

RE: The Dunn Zone
Looking at the new student entrance being at Gate 2 that brings them in by what used to be the visitor seating area... are they moving the student section to the opposite corner of the stadium, or are the students going to now need to make there way all the way to the opposite corner from where they enter? Seems kind of strange.

I think the idea is maybe to make it convenient/closer to tailgating lots.

Natural flow of traffic for nearly all students comes from that side of the field -- tailgating as pilot mentioned, and then from campus to the northwest -- make so much more sense.

Agreed. And it's probably not even close.

Personally, I think that Floyd was better than both. Especially as an athletics fan. Haenicke basically gutted the Athletic Dept budget. Floyd understood how important athletics was to promote the university.

But after the complete debacle that Judy Bailey was, I would take ANY of these guys.

Dieter was an A hole and everyone around him knew it. Fired Molde over a 5 year old slight where he thought he was wronged. If you were anywhere near his office on most days you could here him cussing up a storm with his German accent.

Floyd would sit in the stands early at home football games and talk to everyone. There was a reason he has moved on and has done well for himself.

04-cheers:cheers:DEAD NON ACCURATE. I SAW AND HEARD THE SAME THING. DR. Dunn is the real deal. To see the improvments that have occured on campus under Floyd's and Dunn's leadership is world class.
