We are not bitching about how bad the defense has played. In previous years, opponents have put up huge yards and points against us. This year, has been different. We lost Ward and many on dline but the defensive line has played well(Lee and Thomas) plus Meehan, Ford etc. Linebackers have been good(minus Bass).

Last year I think we were jumping ship on the D by now.

Love how our guys are playing on D... so happy too the way this 2014 schedule has played out to start... scrimmage against Pres, toughish game at NW, given the distance/heat toughish game against UNLV, and the big show (for the preseason) against Arkansas...and then, an oasis in the desert with a bye week and start the MAC season... would be incredible to start 4-0... wouldn't doubt this team can do it

Our rush D has been great. But we gave up 397 yards in the air. UNLV only threw for 121 vs. N. Colorado and 250 vs. Arizona. I do think our pass D is our biggest weakness. We do have a pretty young secondary, so they should improve throughout the season. Plus, the MAC looks especially weak this year.
