Ball State Preview - My View
My article at TheRocketNation
I look forward to seeing some of y'all at the game. I am in town for my HS reunion and a look at the new Larimer complex to see "my and Kris' door."
GO ROCKETS!

"This year's pass attack is primed by short passes, including screen passes to WR KeVohn Mabon, the team leader in catches followed by WR Chris Schillings."
they will have a field day with our corners playing 10 yds. off.

Keep that thought in mind during the course of the game.

RE: Ball State Preview - My View
Just a gut feeling, but after following Ball State's last two games, I think the Rockets are going to enjoy ripping apart a team that appears to be inferior to the Rockets on both the field (talent wise) and on the sidelines (coaching). I look for something like a 45-21 final score.

What I want to see this Saturday:
1. A win over Ball State--preferably a "comfortable" one that is not in question after the first quarter.
2. Similar stats as the Cincy game--if not even better ones--for Woodside. Want to see him solidify his comfort level as our QB. I was impressed with his game & effort against the Bearcats...time to show it wasn't a fluke.
3. No injuries to any players--particularly Rockets.

Still listed as questionable. Also of note, Jordan Houge is also listed as questionable against Toledo - he was injured in the Indiana State game.

RE: Ball State Preview - My View
Just got done watching the rest of their game against Indiana State. Not to be redundant, but here's what I took away.
This is not the well oiled machine that we faced that last couples seasons. I think they will have more difficulty running on us than they did Indiana State. They can dink and dunk effectively, but their vertical game is very much hit and miss. Watch out for the throw to the TE, though. On the other hand, they do know how to beat us, so we need to get pressure on their QB so as not to have to rely so much on our secondary.
I would like to think our offense should be able to run on them more effectively that Indiana St. Their secondary is quite vulnerable so, unless Woodside has a bad day, we could be in for some excitement down field.
Their punters are pretty good, so we might want to try to get some pressure on them.

If we know they can't go deep, I bet we will pressure the wideouts and play closer to them. If there is no fear of going deep...why not. It's not like Mauk or Kiel who have great deep balls and could do both effectively. BSU reminds me of the 2009 Rockets with Eric page as a young slot boy. They may win a few games, just how we beat Colorado but they lack tallent all over the team to scare contenders. Out players know this is a revenge game...

Oh they will go deep, but their QB is not Wenning, plus their WR's can have the dropsies.

3 longest plays of the year went for 38, 37, and 34. No clue if those were even deep balls and each were by different players. They could try to go deep, but it hasn't been in their playbook yet.

The Rockets are coming to play and win, nobody in the MAC has played the schedule we have. I hope a lot of fans show up for the game and root the Rockets to victory. Time to start a 9 game winning streak.
