Villanova Game-East Main Lot
Looks like lot opens 3 hours prior to game and $20 charge. We need a charged fan base at game for Dukes!

Robertson does have a cast on his left, non-throwing hand after an injury. I'm not sure if this will effect him in any way.

I don't think it will affect him throwing the ball, obviously. But he's also a dual threat and only being able to carry the ball on one side has to be somewhat concerning for Villanova. Also wondering how he'll be able to handle the ball from the Center. I'm sure they're working on that this week.
Hard to say that it's a positive going into this week, but it certainly does help us, even a little. He still has the ability to absolutely shred us, but even if it slows him down a tiny bit... sometimes that's all you need to pull the upset.

Yeah, tickets will be available at the gate.

No fan base in the CAA deserves the product on the field that Villanova produces less than those fans.

Just because they are "big boys" (although one could argue the Big East isn't one of the big boys anymore) for basketball doesn't mean they should scoff at a tremendous program solely based on classification as FCS.

Despite their fans claims otherwise, Villanova does not play Big Boy basketball. The Big East is not the old Big East. When the A10 gets more teams in than you, that tells you all you need to know. They're now a mid-major league.
Villanova gets poor football support because of scoffing at the FCS label after playing big east basketball all these years.

I like taking the train to games. We take NJT to Rutgers games and have taken Amtrak to Rhode Island, Delaware, and Temple. Planning to take LIRR to Stony Brook this year. Bring a mini cooler for your road sodas, save some for the game and/or the tailgate you'll join up with, and let the engineer do the driving.

Do they let you tailgate or not? They gone back and forth over the last few years it seems like to me.

I think they do let you tailgate in one of the lots. But the God's honest truth? If you have a pack of friends, go to a local bar - there are a bunch. some have great beers and they are a short jaunt from Stade Villanova. I have walked from at least 5 differnt bars to campus in my day (or vice versa)

Here's my rationale:

First - its wedding season and the Villanova Chapel will be hosting 2-3 weddings on Saturday. That environment doesnt lend itself well to getting rowdy before a game.

Second - I just said Villanova Chapel! Nothing like getting loaded with a large church within plain sight.

Last - Villanova's lots are mixed use and unlike JMU, UD, et al, there will be more people parking in those lots to do things other than go to the football game than those going to the football game.

Bars: Garrett Hill Ale House, Flip & Bailey's, Kelly's, Gullifty's, The Grog, Erin's Pub

I suppose the downside to this approach is that the game is at 1230 and one or more of these establishments likely open at 11.

Nova's tailgate lot is great. Right across the street from the stadium, and I guarantee there will be more Dukes fans tailgating than Wildcats. There's no mixed use in Lot A. Everyone will be drinking.

Lot A, per campus maps is the West Main Lot. Lot B is the East Main Lot (aka the Pike Lot). It is very unlikely that the West Main Lot allows tailgating? Pike Lot appears that as of last year, HAVE re-allowed tailgating:

http://www.vuhoops.com/2013/9/22/4758744...-villanova

I suppose if they are charging $20 to park in Pike, then it probably would not be mixed use day of game, but is for virtually every other even I have been to on campus - including WTT and basketball games.

For those staying over night, this is mentioned every @ Villanova game:
-downtown you have lots of stuff to see & do in Philly, like Independence National Historical Park is 15 miles away from Nova in downtown (Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were both signed, Liberty Bell, Constitution Center, etc).

-Valley Forge National Historical Park is only 8 miles.

Cheesesteaks: Tons of different opinions. Top 10 list:
http://www.visitphilly.com/articles/phil...esesteaks/

-If you want to do the tourist thing, go to Pats or Genos.
-Closest to Villanova is Tony Lukes, who has over a doz locations in the Philly area (and now some outiside of that) including one 2 miles southeast (past the stadium coming from the interstate) on Rt 30 at 601 W LANCASTER AVE, BRYN MAWR.
