Rice injuries
Two of their defensive stars, Covington (DT) and Julius White (FS) were injured vs. Texas A&M and left the game as well as two DEs. Something to watch this week.

RE: Rice injuries
Rice's top TE and WR were kept out of the ND and TAM games to keep'em healthy. So we should be able to see them on Sat.

RE: Rice injuries
I just read where the Rice coach stated that their leading Receiver Jordan Taylor all 6 feet 5 inches of him hopes to return to practice this week but their coach doesn't want to play him until he is 100%. He doesn't want him back in one week and out the next.

RE: Rice injuries
This from Houston Chronicle
Rice defensive tackle Christian Covington will undergo a precautionary magnetic resonance imaging test Monday after leaving Saturday’s game at Texas A&M with a knee injury.
Covington was injured on the Aggies’ first offensive play and did not return.
“Talking to Christian he feels pretty confident that he’s going to be able to come back (this Saturday against Old Dominion),” coach David Bailiff said. “He’s saying he is feeling a lot better, that he’s feeling strong.”
In other injury news:
• Tight end Connor Cella (fractured rib) has been cleared to return this week.
• Wide receiver Jordan Taylor, who has missed the Owls’ first two games with a sprained left foot, did some light jogging Monday morning and is expected to ease into practice this week, coach David Bailiff said. Bailiff said Taylor’s status will be updated Wednesday.
• Nose tackle Ross Winship (ankle) and free safety Julius White (shoulder) should play in the Conference USA opener. Defensive end Zach Patt (groin) was the only player Bailiff did not have an update about.

You left out that little item your coach said about Jordan Taylor and that was from the Houston Chronicle, about not playing Taylor until he is completely healed.

RE: Rice injuries
These injuries are significant enough for Vegas to drop the line from -10 to -8. Rice is still the favorite, however ODU can steal this one.
