AAC goal for the year
I'm seeing many threads here bashing the league for its awful record out of conference and YES it's bad there us no way around it. But here it's what I see this league will be considered superior to the others IF we land our champion in the Access Bowl, plain and simple. NOT by our record against the others. Look at basketball our out of conference record was not great, yet UConn winning it all moved the perception as well as UCF winning its BCS bowl game. The SEC is considered the premier league because its top teams have cleaned house in the BCS and NC games.
The facts are that our league still has top teams that can get that Access bid ECU is 2-1 and has a great win and a loss that won't hurt them. UC will get its chance with OSU and Miami
We have four programs that right now are in the dregs: USF,Tulsa,SMU and UConn the good news is that all four have won in past and have the resources to come back up.
Tulane is an in betweener not sure yet wether they go in group above or below
We have three other programs UCF,Houston, and Memphis that would do well vs most of the other G5 schools. And yes I know UH lost to UTSA and BYU but I would say that this year those two are among top G5 programs

Yes, AAC wasn't that good last year in football, but UCF making the most of the auto bid to the Fiesta Bowl by beating Baylor, was a tremendous boost in perception for the league that made a lot people forget about the horrid start.

Agreed 100%

Disagree with you on Tulsa. They have never put resources into their football program and have never paid football or basketball coaches enough to stay.

I would put Tulane with the 4 below. They aren't very good.

Memphis might be a surprise for us on the positive side this year. UCF has been disappointing. Houston has been very disappointing.

I honestly thought that the general expectations on this board prior to the season were too high.
Congrats though to East Carolina for their signature victory. Hopefully you have another in store for jenkintown week.
