RE: Come on BC!
I'm sorry Eagles' fans.

I would truly like to congratulate you on your spectacularly awesome win, but since you overscheduled by playing USC I just can't.

To have the nerve to schedule such a game knowing there was no way you could possibly win it and therefore only further the ACC's already perceived "weak in football" perception was extremely stupid on your administration's part.

As we have been told by fans from true football schools, there was NO WAY you would win that game and if by some miracle you did, it wouldn't help the image of the ACC anyway but only damage the Pac-12's.

Cheers,
Neil

RE: Come on BC!
I really got tired of the announcers telling us how tired the poor USC defense was because they had to play Stanford last week.

I wasn't all that shocked by last night's BC/USC result. Here is what I wrote after last week's PITT / BC game. It is listed in the PITT/BC thread below.

RE: Pitt/BC

I really like with Steve Addazio is building at Boston College. I sincerely believe he was a great hire by them and is a very good fit there. In time, think he is going to be very successful there. That is not an empty platitude, that is my sincere opinion. He has a lot of charisma and a clear vision for what he wants to build there. Also, BC has proven in the past that you can recruit offensive linemen to that program and that is exactly what he is going to do. I was especially impressed with how hard BC competed last night all the way up to the end of that game.

Also that Murphy kid is a very good athlete. However, as a passer he is pretty raw and that was often evident last night. Right now, he is really only capable of beating you with his legs. He is too inconsistent of the passer to beat you with his arm. However, he clearly has arm talent and will become more consistent as the season progresses. As he improves his passing consistency, that team is going to become much more difficult to defend.

I predict that Boston College will upset a team or two along the way this year on the legs/arm of Murphy.

I'm positive Syracuse would have hired Addazio if BC didn't scoop him up first. However I love Schafer so far. Just not sold on his assistant coaches and coordinators. Time will tell which northern ACC school got the better deal.
