C-USA POW
While Doughty did throw for 1,000 yards or so his team still lost. Do you think a player (especially QB) deserves POW after a losing effort? Honestly not trying to start any smack just curious on the opinions. My thought is you need to win the game to be the player of the week.

It's a team sport and he preform great. He should not be punished for our defense. Same goes for any other player in this conference

Don't think your team needs to win the game and I am pretty sure someone has won CUSA POW even in defeat.

If winning were a requirement, the SBC would have to forego giving the awards this weekend... 03-rotfl

It's not as though WKU lost by 40 points. It was Triple OT; that's as close as it gets. 593 yards is an all-time C-USA record. Well earned.

Game was lost by our defense and our inability to get short yards not Doughty, he did his job so I agree with you...

Yeah, he deserved it. He picked us apart. Looks like a different guy from the one I saw last year. His OL deserves some credit too. He had a pretty clean jersey to have run 60+ pass plays. I thought our DL is improved the year but we couldn't get pressure.

Nope, don't think that winning is a requirement. As others have said, it's a team game.

I am glad on one hand that Aaron Jones didn't get POW. This is the second time he has had over 150 yards and multiple touchdowns and didn't get POW. I think he uses it as extra motivation. Aaron Jones is on pace to set the all time rushing record for all of the NCAA.

Cato had 425 yards on only 17 completions, 25 yards per completion is a pretty staggering number, and 4 TDs. I guess he's battling pretty high expectations. His QB rating for the week was 220.3.

For comparison, Doughty QB rating was 157.6.

UAB's back-up RB DJ Vinson rushed for 5 TDs in a win, breaking the school record for rushing tds in a game...

any other week, he would have won it.
