Hopefully its going to be fun to watch this young team grow up and get better this year and by god win some games along the way.

FTFY.

Two seasons ago we were beating UConn and giving Minnesota hell in a close loss before AC went down. Even then, we ended up with four wins.

Yeah two years ago when we gave up 60 to Toledo were you on the game thread ripping on the secondary and the coaches. When all those guys got hurt against UConn were you inferring it was due to training? When we lost to Minnesota did you spend two weeks saying how Minnesota was the worst B1G team you'd ever seen when they barely beat an FCS UNH team? I'm guessing no to all of those. But hey keep up the game of blasting the coach and the program and pretending how good the program was. Maybe Tom Cubit will come back and give you more rep points.

Wow, Bitterman!!! Table for two! Bitter!!!!! 03-rotfl

Actually, I was ripped on here for being patient and understanding about the injuries, the resourcing, and the state of our program.

That's gone now, I saw the error in my ways. HIGH EXPECTATIONS!!

Man when you get owned you are embarrassing. You just post emoticons and say you're being trolled.

You're then only chucklehead the morning after a win talking up how great that 4-8 2012 nightmare was.

I was saying it was great? I thought I was correcting a post where it said the last couple of seasons were so bad and this ONE WIN made it all better. Silly me.

All the Fleckies are saying 4-8 this year would show the program is headed in the right direction.

I guess going from "buffoonish" to "nightmare" will make them happy.

Silly you is right. Jumping on some nothing post about how it doesn't suck that we won a game and railing on about how much better off we were with Cubit. You do look silly trying to pee on every positive thing that happens with this program.

I'm not sure who is a "Flecky" but I think yesterday's game demonstrated progress. If it isn't happening fast enough or the progress isn't sufficient enough by years end for you or anyone else then so be it. I'm just pleased with the win. I'm glad to be talking football and not coaching politics for at least a week.

4-8 is progress, but I don't want to put a ceiling on what this team can be. I hope we see continuous improvement throughout the season and don't go into a game (besides VaTech and maybe NIU) without at least a realistic scenario where we can win it. That was a decent win to build off of yesterday.

A win is a win, and is progress, even over a 1-13 team.

Now take care of business vs. FCS team in Waldo. Long time since we won a home game.

Pj and his staff need to prove that this was not an aberration. The team needs to improve week to week. Good jump from first to second game but this one win doesn't make the season a success. It make this week a success. I see that and I will get in the boat.

I watch WMU when I have an opportunity and I believe that a strong WMU is good for the MAC. I also believe that given time PJ will build a strong program and that it will not take a long time given they players that he has been able to recruit.

RE: Credit Where Its Due
I don't want overnight success. I want long-term progressive success. Success that means if a coach moves on to greener pastures the Broncos won't fall apart again. I liked Cubit, but to be honest he never strung together two winning seasons in a row. He did string together 3 non-losing seasons in a row though (the middle season was 6-6). It is no surprise that Cubit was an offensive minded coach and after reading two weeks of post game comments it is also apparent he left our defensive cupboards bare.

I said it before and I will say it again, I was not happy with the Broncos hiring a Husky, but now that they have he deserves his chance and one season doesn't make it his chance. As long as visible progress can be seenhe deserves his chance. I'm not for firing someone just because I don't like him or because he isn't going 13-0 (bowl win included) from the beginning.

Progress has been made, but more needs to be done (defense and special teams).

The win yesterday speaks volumes about where the program is heading but the real indicators on what direction the program is heading will star to be displayed in three weeks.

Yeah, because UConn and Minnesota are powerhouse P5 programs... 03-yawn

...and then Toledo, Ball State, Kent State, NIU, Buffalo, and EMU all happened.

Yeah that 4-8 season two years ago was awesome. 03-troll

Right, that was implied. That's exactly what I meant.

Four wins? Fire the coach. I'm down.

So you agree, Fleck gets his fair share of time (like any other coach) to build the program. Maybe not 9 seasons, but you know what I mean.

No, this year. More than four or out is how it looks like it'll play.

If he goes after year two -- regardless of our record -- I will be more TO'ed at our administration than ever. We will have officially just wasted two years of our football program.

With the recruiting classes Fleck is pulling in, he should get 3 years no questions asked, IMO. Fourth season being the big indicator.
