Question for BYU fans
Question for BYU fans. It seems like you have a really solid team this year (like most years) If you guy go 12-0, 11-1, 10-2 etc this year. How do you feel about not having a shot at the access bowl? Is it worth it to join a G5 conference or does independence still have more value in your minds?

No, they serve alcohol at the games in the AAC. Damn, heathens!

RE: Question for BYU fans
If BYU goes 12-0 and is still ignored by the Access Bowls, that would have to prompt some serious reflection by their fans and the powers-that-be.

RE: Question for BYU fans
If BYU is clearly the best G5 program this year and doesn't get the access bowl, you can pretty much guarantee that they are joining the MWC the next day.

they hate the MWC. the MWC commish has insulted byu numerous times..

and the person known as the voice of byu and connected to the athletic department when asked about byu to a conference, he said that byu wants into a power conference and that the mwc isnt a remote option...

if forced theyd choose the american

The MWC destroyed an entire conference (the WAC) so BYU wouldn't have a place to put their olympic sports.

Why does anyone thinks the BYU-back-to-MWC thing is ever going to happen?

Lets be honest here, its not likely that byu will rejoin the mwc, but where else would they go if they cant get into a P5??? The AAC03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

BYU will remain Independent for as long as they possibly can. Which may turn out to be 3 years or 33 years or more, I don't know.

But if, somehow/someway, BYU was simply forced to make a gun-to-the-head choice between the Mountain as presently-constituted, and the American as presently-constituted (incl. Navy), then yes they would choose the American every time. That would be a very simple and obvious decision for them.

I think you couldn't be more wrong and byu would rejoin the mwc over joining the aac every time if they cant get into a P5.04-cheers

I doubt BYU goes back to the MWC, if they do I'd be shock.

If I'm BYU, I hurry and get the wheels rolling and join the AAC, yesterday.

RE: Question for BYU fans
If BYU goes 12-0, they will likely get an access bowl slot. It just can't be the G5 slot, but it can be an at large slot. Assuming they didn't make the playoffs, which would be unlikely that they did.

BYU fan here. The first thing is to go 12-0. Hope to see UC do the same. I would expect an at-large bid to an access bowl, hopefully not playing against a G-5 like they did with Boise and TCU. How foolish of the powers that be to not include BYU as P-5 or G-5. Playoff spot doubtful, but you never know.

If it were my choice, never to the MWC. That conference dragged us down for decades. Leaving them immediately improved our recruiting. I like what the AAC has to offer and am a fan of your teams especially against any P-5. Not to be offensive, we are a bigger and better program than more than half the P-5. Why admit we're not P-5 by joining a G-5 conf. Only drawback is no conf championship to play for. We feel similar to the AAC in that its us against a rigged system. Our schedules are improving. As long as we can schedule no need to join the AAC. Right now we are in the National discussion like never before.

I attended the UConn-BYU game and will be at the UCF-BYU game. I appreciate being able to have these games. That is part of BYUs goal to allow their fans to see them play. How many teams have a realistic shot at the National Championship anyway. This could be one of those crazy years for a shakeup. A larger playoff could at least give everyone
a chance.

Best wishes to all AAC teams and thanks for your olive branch of scheduling. I hope its mutually beneficial.

RE: Question for BYU fans
If BYU goes 12-0 they'd get some type of at large bid/playoff spot, but at 11-1 they would probably be SOL.

Oh, definitely yes. Anything from 6-6 to 11-1, and they are in the Miami Beach Bowl. If they go 12-0 then it gets fuzzy but my honest belief is they would get an at-large to the Access Bowls. But 12-0 is a very tall order.
