They do not really have an appreciation for the football played in this conference and have a tainted view of things. They dismiss the MAC because we have so many crossover Illini/Northwestern/other P-5 fans, that they think by degrading the MAC that it will somehow keep the bigger conferences safe. It is really a stupid train of thought, especially this year when the Big 10 is so so bad. Please do not take these fans with any seriousness. We know NIU is one bad recruiting class away from slipping back into the middle of the MAC pack. Having said that, every fan of every MAC institution should aspire to move up. The MAC will no longer be playing FBS football in the not so distant future. Id question the dedication of fans that did not want their team to move up.

Coming from the guy who said the Huskies did not deserve to win the game tonight.

"They" dismiss the MAC because overall the MAC sucks. You think by degrading the B1G it will protect the MAC. It's really stupid of you to keep saying the B1G is "so so bad" when they have a winning record as a conference right now, when the MAC has three zero win teams and half of the MAC's 14 wins right now come from three teams.

Why should anyone take anything you say seriously? You take a shot at NIU any chance you get. You b!tched about Sean Frazier for a year. Now that he is actually scheduling teams you approve of, you say things like "if they actually come". I really do believe that you would be happy if the MAC dropped to FCS and NIU went back to the stone age in football just so you can say I told you so to everyone.

You really think I want NIU to become FCS and play Illinois St. for homecoming every year? Of course not! That was my biggest fear is that it would come to that if NIU didn't think bigger. As far this game goes, I got a little too carried away but you have to agree, you don't change your QB at that point. Tim, I admit I probably get too worked up about things and am annoying, but you have to understand, I am not what you think with this Toledo love, want to go to FCS, etc. Most people here would know from all these years of posting that I do not think like that

The MAC is bad, really bad right now. I knew it was a down year, but this week kind of showed what league play will look like.

These are what many thought are the MACs top teams and their performances this week. (Disclaimer I didn't think much of CMU or Ball state preseason, but many others did)

NIU, which at the moment is by far and away the MACs top team, nearly dropped an ugly one. Penalties were rampant and it looked like they were ready to go back to Illinois at halftime. Still won by 14 but it was ugly.

BG, beat a bad IU team. It was their first power 5 win since 2007. That says A LOT. They made the biggest play of the game, but were out gained and had like 30 more snaps than IU. IU isn't going bowling. BG is probably still be the favorite in the East, but they should be 1-2 right now with 2 ugly losses. They also are extremely banged up. They might go 6-2 at best in conference and win that division.

Toledo, they are good on offense, but that D is atrocious. Many thought their D would turn the corner. They returned a lot of defenders. If they don't stop anyone and Hunt has an off day, they're in trouble. They're 1-2 right now and have a lot of question marks.

Ball state, loses a horrible game yesterday. That cannot and should not happen. Especially at home. Many of Ball State fans thought the Iowa game was something to hang their hat on. Iowa sucks right now, no offense whatsoever. They're best and only win is 30-10 win over crappy Colgate.

CMU, looked BAD, and they lost at home. I know they don't have Rawls and Davis, but Syracuse is not 37 points better without those guys. They certainly don't make up a 37 point difference either.

Buffalo looked okay given it was Baylor. Didn't see Akron, don't think they played. Those are the top 6 teams in the conference. They went 2-4 and easily could have gone 0-6 given NIUs ****** 3rd quarter.

NIU has two of those guys at home, is far more talented than Ball state and doesn't play the Easy favorites until Detroit should they make it. If NIU doesn't win the west, I'm gonna be very disappointed.

I still think Akron is going to be the surprise team In the east. From what I watched in the Penn state game they looked pretty good.
