Sounds like a big step in the right direction, to me. I hope it works out, and that you guys can finally have a place to truly call your own. In my opinion, playing at RJS has been the biggest thing holding USF back from growing to their full potential.

Positive news for USF fans, and for other AAC fans, too. Glad to hear it.

USF said thanks but no thanks....as the first couple administrations were belligerent if not out right hostile to collegiate athletics. Harlan should make a quick phone call to Pepin to see if they are still interested in writing a big check
That would be about the time that the University of Tampa elected to discontinue its football program, which competed at the NAIA level until 1969, then at the NCAA level from 1970-74. UT is a private school and couldn't afford to sustain a Division I football program. As a Tulane fan, I can appreciate some of the financial pressures they were facing. But still, I wonder if the history of USF athletics might have turned out differently if the Spartans had maintained a football program up through the present time.

Here's my take:

1. Harlan is a Godsend!!!!

2. This is just the first few baby steps on the road to an OCS. they are testing the waters, sending up a trial balloon... getting the word out. But it's HUGE that USF *is* taking those first few steps.

3. Very much remains to be seen what the goal is... which may largely depend on the results of any funding drive. This can't be overstated. If USF raises mid level money, will it proceed with a smaller stadium (Tulane)? Will it go for a mid level with seatbacks (FAU)? Will it hold out for many years on a belief that it must be a top tier stadium?

I still think Houston set the standard. They went from idea to stadium in just a few short years, and pressed forward in spite of a posh NRG Stadium nearby. USF should sure as hell try to follow this example.

There is room. Actually several spot where an OCS could work, but (as Cuban has told us...) they seem to have settled in on a spot right on fowler south of the Sun Dome. This would be about perfect.
