Coming into the season, I didn't think the west would be all that great (or the east for that matter), but between UTSA, Rice, La Tech, and UAB, the west is looking pretty damn strong.

I think this, and preliminary bowl talk, is early by about two games, personally.

That doesn't fit my narrative.

That doesn't work for me.

I've noticed that and got a laugh out of it every time I've seen someone post something similar.

UTSA has certainly come out swinging, we all knew Marshall would be tough, and others are making noise or have potential to do so but based strictly on 2014 performance, should LT now be considered the favorite to win C-USA?

Are they?

I always laugh at it because it is set up on a subdomain. Want to be taken seriously? Spend the $9.99/yr for a real domain.

I'm assuming the poster is a bot, it's just annoying.

You're right about the domain though, it just screams amateur.

I would still put Marshall as the favorite. I think we have made a case for being in the mix and possibly winning it. We look great, but also saw some doosies last year that left me scratching my head, so I like what we are doing and glad to see that Holtz is coaching better and that we got a good QB to come in, but I don't want to get to cocky... yet!

Based upon season-to-date performances --and as long as Tech stays healthy-- I think LA Tech is the team to beat in the west. Yes, UTSA is tough this year, but we were already expecting the Roadrunners to be tough.

Dude, the ONLY reason you got invited was for your football prowess. I'm just happy to see it rear it's ugly head THIS year. 03-lmfao Basketball is a plus, too, and don't mean to say it's not.

Strong West division for sure this year. Whoever wins the East will have thier hands full to say the least.

I voted for UTSA. I think that up until this point, they have been the most impressive CUSA team.

The east is loaded too, I would bet that if each division play a round robin with the other, the difference would be less that 2-3 wins.

Sokol is really good and continues to get better and if we can continue to find guys like that can fly like the FR WR Henderson to change things up against good teams this season we will be in the mix. Without injuries I see us holding serve at home with a couple of tough games and we have a couple of road games left in conference that will also be tough.

UTSA looks like the best team at this point to me, followed closely by LaTech. But it's early. UAB looks tough, MT, Rice, WKU all are talented. MU/NT/ODU all will be heard from before it's all over, I don't think they'll be anyone undefeated or w/ just one loss in conference, too many good teams/coaches. I know that won't help/win the best of 5 thing if that happens, but it's how I see it. 6-7 good teams, bowl teams, and some losses will come from it.

UTSA or LA Tech in the West- Marshall or MT (unless WKU spoils it tonight) in the East. Way Too Early To Predict the overall CUSA CHAMP. As much as I want MT to sweep the whole deal by killing WKU and shocking the Herd later this year and knocking off the West Champ; I believe MARSHALL may be the Team of Destiny! Besides, they are our most realistic hope to get the Access BOWL invite and some extra $$$$$$ and EXPOSURE for CUSA!

Not sure I agree with that post. If you're trying to say the ONLY (and you did say "only") reason LA Tech got invited to CUSA is because of its football, then you're just being silly. LA Tech certainly has no trouble competing in this league in any sport. And LA Tech's strong academics don't hurt either. Just last week U.S. News and World Report named LA Tech a "Tier One National University" for the 4th consecutive year. I think Rice and UNC-Charlotte are the only other CUSA schools in this prestigious academic category.
