That's actually still better offensive numbers than SMU so far this season... Just sayin'.

RE: Best Offense / Defense in the AAC
Way too early to say. The homer in me wants to say ECU is the best offense, but despite some very solid statistics against South Carolina we squandered a bunch of opportunities. If we come out and move the ball and score points on VT then I'll feel confident to say ECU has the best offense in the league. As for defense I'll just stick with UCF.

SMU OOC
#7 Texas A & M
#8 Baylor
TCU getting top 25 votes
North Texas 9-4 last season with a bowl win.

No one that matters in this conversation.

Memphis played #11 UCLA and has #14 Ole Miss, ECU has # #21 South Carolina and # 17 Virginia Tech.

We also play #25 North Carolina.

My point was more focused on someone like UCF or Houston who plays UTSA, UNLV OOC, and misses us in conference. They may end up with decent stats but they play a weaker schedule. That's pretty much what this clown told us all summer about our team last year.

UCF plays #20 Missouri, #25 BYU, and I bet Penn State will be ranked on Monday now that their bowl ban has been lifted. It's not as tough as ECU's schedule but it's no cakewalk

I'm not sure if PSU is actually a top 25 team but they're the only Big Ten team that hasn't embarrassed itself so the voters will rank them.

I didn't say it was bad, just not as good. The UCF guy is the one pointing out our schedule, my only point is if we got good offense and defensive numbers it's going to be as legit as you can get in a couple weeks as far as the conference peers because we play as tough or better a schedule.

Now Jonesing, you can get by with flaunting 100 basketball player efficiency or performance numbers, but you can't get by with that statement. You clearly didn't say what I've underlined below.

Your exact comment and the comments related to it are posted below and everyone here knows exactly what you meant. Frankly, when that comment was made, no one else had mentioned schedules. You started this. Any comment by "the UCF guy" was a reaction to your bragging about your schedule.

http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/27

Total Defense....Average yards allowed per game:
11. Houston 250 <--- 1/3 of games played against terrible FCS
37. ECU 307 <--- 1/2 of games played against terrible FCS

Scoring Defense...Average points allowed per game
Tied 46 Temple 19

Total Offense....Average yards gained per game
23. ECU 517 <--- 1/2 of games played against terrible FCS
30. Memphis 507 <--- 1/2 of games played against terrible FCS
50. Tulsa 460

Scoring Offense: Average points scored per game
10. Memphis 49 <--- 1/2 of games played against terrible FCS
45. ECU 37 <--- 1/2 of games played against terrible FCS

Not to be a stickler, but I saw this trend.

No one plays a schedule like we do OOC in this league.

Don't sleep on USF. I saw the Maryland game. They have some studs and may be a lot better by the end of the year.

Based on one game, UC may have the best offense, but it may have the worst defense.

Our defense is no joke, the offense in the other hand just needs minor tweaking and we're set.

That first half offense was the best any in the conference has looked.
