Its too early to honestly tell who they're going after. But I'd argue they want either the coordinator out of A&M, Chad Morris, or possibly Hudspeth out of ULL. A couple of dark horses include the guy at Sam Houston State and the current interim coach, Tom Mason, who I think is using the rest of the season as a tryout. Fuente has a whole season in front of him.

BFS running strong in this thread, Except for June Jones running from Hawaii when has a sitting head coach taken a job like SMU?

Fuente is not up for any jobs, and when he gets to that status we will:

1- be in a helluva position to move forward

2- put up a good fight and never lose our coach to a bottom feeder like SMU

I never say never anymore Ned. Fuente is the first football coach at Memphis that I would hate to see us lose
in many many years. What happens in the next 5 games wont change that stance either, however fans reactions
to what happens the next 5 games could impact his plans.

SMU? I like the school and have plenty of friends who spent their brash yout's there but, the school is too small to ever again be a powerhouse like it was in the 80's. (that took $$$ and brass balls) Any coach wanting to climb the professional ladder would say, "thanks but no thanks".
