Road trip to SMU game
Contemplating making the trip. Will probably stay in Addison since there are so many good restaurants in town.

Any suggestions on what places should be on my "must go" list?

Find a Twisted Root burger place. There are several in the city, the original is not too far from SMU, downtown Dallas, there is probably one in Addison.

Cristina's is a good Tex-Mex. Mi Cocina is a little better. Gloria's is always good.

Del Frisco or Bob's Chop House for upscale steak house.

Papadeaux for great seafood.

There are too many to mention. Dallas is ranked as the #1 per capita "eat out" city in the US.

For breakfast in the Addison area try the Original Pancake House.

A good watering hole for sports and people watching is the Black Finn. There have been several Tigers get togethers there. It's on Belt Line off the Tollway and that might be considered Addison?

WHATABURGER!
Seriously, Ditto most of Tiger46's choices. My faves are Pappadeaux and Cristina's. There is a local hole in the wall Mexican place where I live called Los Amigos that is very good Mexican. No fanfare, BYOB, and great food. (That is if you venture over to Grapevine to hit the mall).

What time is the game? I am trying to plan around HS marching band competitions that day.

RE: Road trip to SMU game
If you want to try a place that most no one knows about....try the Coyote Ridge Golf Club....it is a very new and nice Country Club open to the public in Carrollton. The Shops of Legacy area at the Tollway and Legacy in Plano has a lot of great restaurants. Jaspers, Mi Cocina, Mexican Sugars, Half Shell, Sambuca, Capitol Grill, Fireside Pies and Seasons 52 are good and there are other places in that area worth checking out. There is a new pizza place right on the Square in Frisco that is nice. I am mentioning these because they are places that a lot of folks do not know much about. I also like Pappadeaux for Cajun style seafood...it is pretty exceptional if you have never been there. There are several locations in the DFW area.
For great Italian food try Maggianos which is in Willow Bend Mall in Plano and there is one on Central Expressway too. I have had a lot of folks tell me it is the best Italian Restaurant they have ever eaten at. The George Bush Library is now open at SMU, so that is worth visiting. Dallas has great museums and the Nasher Scupture Garden is worth seeing too. Rathbuns Blue Plate Kitchen at 6130 Luther is great. I also like Pappas Brothers Steakhouse which is very high end and on Northwest Highway near I 35. Actually there are so many really great restaurants that you will find many good recommendations from the locals04-cheers

For breakfast, try The Crossroads Diner at 8121 Walnut Hill in Dallas. My wife loves this place and she says they have great lunches too.

If you have some time and want to see something special...go to Frisco. It is the fastest growing city in America and where I live. There is so much under construction and it is such a well planned city, that it is worth the trip. While there, go to STONEBRIAR MALL for shopping. There is an IKEA store there too.

We pass that about once a week going up to our son's house in Allen.

Something else that is growing like crazy; I took my wife over to UT Southwest for some tests this morning. I hadn't been over there in about two years. I've never seen so much construction. One of these days you won't be able to see the famous Parkland Emergency sign anymore.
