Has anyone explained what happened that caused him to lose interest/motivation in coaching? Was it just a basic case of burn-out or something more specific?

i tthink he checked out of smu, when he was offered and accepted the arizona state job

only to have ASU's ad get backlash and so she "changed her mind"..to have him crawl back to SMU

How can someone with a good $$$ salary not be motivated... I think JJ was burned out, IMO.
