MAC Cross-Division Scheduling
It seems that when it comes to MAC East vs. MAC West cross divisional games, every team has another MAC team from the other division they haven't played in a long time, whether it's on the road or at home.

For NIU, it's been Ohio. We haven't played the Bobcats in the regular season since '09 and they haven't come to DeKalb since '06. To put it bluntly, over the last 10 seasons (04-13), the Huskies and Bobcats have only met in the regular season twice.

Miami is similar in that prior to this year NIU last played the Redhawks in the regular season in '09 and they last played in DeKalb in '08.

Do the other teams in the conference have this situation with a particular cross-divisional foe? And why is it that certain teams seem to play each other so infrequently?

RE: MAC Cross-Division Scheduling
CMU has played Kent State 1 time since 2008 and we don't play them this year.

And NIU will have played Kent 4 times in the regular season since '08, ('08, '11, '13, '14).

RE: MAC Cross-Division Scheduling
It's not a cross-division matchup, but KSU and UMass are playing for the first time.

RE: MAC Cross-Division Scheduling
With UMass leaving, the cross division scheduling will be easier and by simple math your program should play every cross division team at least once every 3 years.
