Ball State AD moving
Bill Scholl, Ball State AD, announced this week that he has accepted a position as vice president and director of athletics at Marquette. He will leave after the Homecoming game in October. He will be missed as he has done a good job for the Cardinals.

Interesting. Football school AD's a lot of times won't take positions at non-football because it's harder to advance to a job at a football school.

If I remember correctly, this guy was doing stuff like scheduling home and homes with (FCS) Illinois State. It could very well be football isn't his forte.

You don't remember correctly. That would be Tom Collins, the AD prior to Bill Scholl. Scholl was a good one, who was hired to BSU from a school that may or may not have a football tradition *cough*notredame*cough*. He made some great coaching hires and leadership in fundraising (and he also cancelled that home-and-home that Collins inexplicably signed). You'd be hard pressed to find a BSU fan that isn't sad to see him go.

The Marquette AD job must pay well, their hoops attendance is better than over half D1 football programs.

#14 in 14 245237 in 16 games for 15327 average. Fresno St, ECU & UCF drew more total attendance among Go5 teams. Hoops is a far less expensive sport.

Scholl was phenomenal at BSU. He will certainly be missed.
