How would Stacey Robinson perform on todays team?
I think Robinson would put up as good if not better numbers than Harnish and Lynch if he had the talent they did. Back in the day, He WAS the team. It would be interesting.

Hard to say. I think he could have been a great spread QB, and he threw the ball a lot better than your typical wishbone QB, so I guess I wouldn't really rule it out.

His greatest strength though was his reads on the triple option. He wasn't unbelievably fast, but he read so well and did the latest pitches I've ever seen. A lot of that doesn't really translate as much to current offenses.

It the read option now. Still have to determine when to give ball or keep it. just interesting to "Christian" ponder.

The read option is a very easy read to make. Virtually anyone can do it in a few minutes. The triple option at the line takes hours and hours of repping. It happens so much faster than the current read. Of course, that's why not too many teams do the old fashioned one anymore. It's more comprehensive (when done correctly, the defense is always wrong) but it takes so much practice time, an option QB never gets an opportunity to work on anything else, as evidenced by the throwing motions of your typical wishbone QB.

I was one of the lucky ones to be on the team through those years. Robinson was special, very special but far from being the team. We had great backs, blocking backs and wide recievers that did a great job opeing up the run and making blocks. The entire O did their job so Stacey could run wild. The D was solid as well, a lot of tough SOB's on that team....

Met Stacey for the first time at Purdue last year. Kinda cool talking to him because he's working as a Locomotive Engineer - same as I did for 38 years.

It was fun watching Stacey for two seasons. He was thinking about trying to play hoops for NIU his senior year, too. That team that went 9-2 was loaded. Great halfbacks and Adam Dach...

Considering that Stacey is in his 50's, I don't think he would perform that well on today's team.03-lmfao

Bad joke, Some reporter asked Wille Mays or some other star from the era,
if he was playing today what he would hit, he said .230, why only .230,
because I'm 73 years old.
