@Village_Commons: #NIU vs. UNLV Tee for this Saturday's game. Needs a good home. Only $14.99 http://t.co/I3rrBmlf1S

They even put the date on it so it will be obsolete after this weekend.

You'd think someone would get the idea that game specific shirts are just bad...

So, they have a game day T-shirt for an away game where most fans attending wouldn't be able to get to VCB before the game? Then, for Presbyterian - a home game - where people were clamoring for T-shirts (yes, I wrote to them), they have none? Sounds like great marketing and a great business plan to me!

There is something completely and totally awesome about game day shirts.

Break out one of those bad boys in 35+ years at homecoming in 2050 and bask in the glory of NIU's victory vs UNLV on September 13th, 2014. Honestly, who here wouldn't want to rock a retro game day shirt vs LA Monroe from 1978? vs West Texas A&M in '69? The 48-27 victory over New Mexico State in the mid 90's?

or all the other classic powerhouses: Presbyterian, Cal Poly, UT-Martin? or the 90th time we beat EMU.

I am fine with a home opener or homecoming shirt...but don't put the helmet of the other team (especially if its a FCS or GO5 team) on it. Its about us and the event not the other team.

My dad now proudly wears his '06 Poinsettia Bowl T shirt from that awful skullf*cking we took in San Diego. Of course, no one besides us remembers it, so now he just gets comments that it was cool that NIU played TCU in a bowl game.

Has anyone seen the gift shop at Notre Dame?

NIU swag-sales are higher than ever right now. If they could get an investor to knock down that crappy strip mall and do something high-end that store could rake it in from parents, etc.. That and a proper on-line store.

Funny. I actually hate all game day shirts. I've been to the orange bowl and many MAC championships. Don't own a single gameday shirt. The Orange Bowl would have been alright i suppose. :)

The gameday t-shirt is a terrible and necessary tradition to make me laugh.

This is why I went into the Orange Bowl with $100 of souvenir money and walked out with a souvenir cup (that I mostly bought for the coke) and $92. I ended up just buying some stuff at VCB because I didn't want to wear something that had and FSU helmet on it.
