NCAA Longest Home Winning Streak?
It was South Carolina coming into the season, but they lost week 1 to Texas A&M. Ohio State and Stanford both lost at home last week. So who's got the longest current home winning streak? NIU sits at 12 with the win over Presbyterian.

Before anyone new breaks in that NIU has won 27 in a row at home, yes, they've won 27 in a row at Huskie Stadium, but the NCAA considers the 2012 game against Iowa at Soldier Field a home game, so NIU's current home winning streak begins with UT-Martin in 2012 and currently sits at 12 games.

I'm pretty sure NIU's winning streak ON THE ROAD is longer than any current home winning streak which is just insane.

Home Winning Streaks:
13 - Fresno State (they play Nebraska at home this weekend)
12 - NIU
12 - Baylor
11 - Auburn

So we could be joint holders with Baylor after this weekend, unless Nebraska ****s the bed against Fresno as they nearly did last week.

By the time NIU next plays at home, they could hold the nation's longest winning streak at a particular site (27, Huskie Stadium), the joint-holders of the longest home winning streak (with Baylor and Auburn. Baylor doens't play at home again until 10/11 and Auburn has a home game on 9/27 against Louisiana Tech), and possibly the nation's longest road winning streak (don't think we'll beat Arkansas, but you never know).

I'm hearing more pessimism about the game against Arkansas than I did when we played FSU. Why does Arkansas scare so many people? We can certainly beat Arkansas, am I wrong?

I hope you're right but I wouldn't rush out to Bovada and bet on the Huskies for that one.

Arkansas is still an SEC team, so they will have some very good players. I don't think is an automatic loss, but I know it is a huge challenge. I think the biggest issue will be the Huskies d line vs their o line. It could be really hard to stop the run. I'm waiting to see how each team does this weekend to really make any predictions though.

I think NIU will struggle to block their front, making it hard to run, meaning yeah...ru roh.

Okay, then, we have the longest home stadium win streak.

I think this Arkansas team will be built like the 2009 Wisconsin team we faced in Madison. Big O-Line, average QB and a good running back. I honestly think our O-Line is going to hold up real well against their D. Should be a real close game.

I wouldn't exactly call Russell Wilson an "Average QB" But I understand where you're going with that.

2009 was Scott Tolzien. That 2011 team we faced would whoop Arkansas' ass.

Scott Tolzien and John Clay weren't really the issue. It was O'Brien Scofield on one side of the D and JJ F*^&ing Watt on the other side that was the problem.

Guy on ESPN said during Florida State highlights it was them. Thought I heard 18. Didn't look into.

NIU holds current streak consecutive home stadium wins AND regular season road wins.

UW @ SF was considered a home lose.

You can thank Jiff for that. NCAA didn't have Soldier Field as a home game until he asked to have it changed to a home game to pad his home game attendance

I dont think so.

It was the 2012 game @ SF vs Iowa that eventually screwed us.

At the end of the 2012 season the NCAA's own record sheet said that we had the active home winning streak. Then it was updated in Feb of 2013 and we all of the sudden did not have the streak. 1 month later Compher was hired away to ECU. (got my years mixed but now its corrected)

Here my OCD finally pays off...I saved the win streak print out from Jan 2012 which shows that we had the streak AFTER the Wisconsin game. We had the same streak on Jan of 2013 but on Feb of 2013 we were magically gone from that list.
