Guys, I'm worried about the TE next year. How can we replace all of that production?

I heard the same about Blake. Really dot get why we didn't redshirt him and Saffold though. Neither are going to get much PT outside of special teams since we are stacked at WR. Doesn't make sense to waste a year for those guys...

They haven't been redshirted? Do we have a list of players that are redshirted this year?

Both played in garbage time vs PC and then I know I saw Blake on the kickoff team vs NW. He had a tackle that game. Saffold was dressed last week as well

RE: NIU Roster
If Blake is on special teams, and doesn't get redshirted, I don't have any problem with it. Special teams are important, and it at least gets him used to the speed of the game, travel requirements and whatnot.

He will obviously play a larger role next year. But he will get more reps in garbage time against the likes of EMU, Kent, and Miami.

Because this isn't a video game, and dudes get hurt...a lot. What happens if it's Novemeber and Tommy and Brown both die again? You can't just be playing 4-5 WRs.

RE: NIU Roster
The only time that a coach did not burn red shirts was Novak's last. He realized with all the injuries, they might be a .500 team. Instead of putting Kill behind the 8 ball with burning red shirts, he just road out a 2-10 season.

RE: NIU Roster
Focused on Dunbar at the fall scrimmage and he looked like a freshman. Got 2nd team reps consistently but absolutely no push on the line. He might become the stud everyone thinks but I would be surprised if we see much of him this year.

RE: NIU Roster
yeah hes been out of football for a year, im sure hes a little rusty and hes also making the jump to college ball. going against 300 lb D1 lineman is a lot different than throwing around a bunch of 230 lbs or fat slobs who cant move in high school. like Big Redd said, i doubt we see much of him this year but i do still expect him to be a stud in the future for us.
