Which school will leave Conference USA next?

Thank you for the endorsement, I agree that we could be a good fit in the AAC in many ways.

Agreed.
Rice has a better shot of getting into a P5 league than of getting into the American.
I do totally agree with this sentiment, and I'd say Rice's next move (whenever it comes) is more likely to Big12 than AAC. A case could be made on some level for any of the P5 conferences, but I'm not going to pretend its a compelling case (yet, anyway).
I don't think Rice is the next in line to move, I would predict a timeline of 4 years. The new AD has the school focused in the right direction, and if athletics continues recent trends then more and more will notice.
I think that everybody in FBS across the board is waiting on realignment moves at least two years - not because of the GORs, but because of the changing landscape with lawsuits and new P5-driven rules coming.

To this point, FWIW, Buffalo, Rice and Tulane are the only schools who play D1A football who are AAU teams and not in a P5 conference. They are also the three teams most mentioned for a P5 conference that seem out of place in terms of on the field production (compared to the other candidates). So there is a correlation. As much as some try to say that academics don't matter, those three showing up at all on suspected potential lists for the 4 of the 5 P5 conferences really says something.

Rice, like UConn and Tulane, may have to wait it out to get into a Power 5 Conference. Better to be in AAC. Even Buffalo and Army may find a home there, especially if some Texas and Fla. AAC schools make it into the B12 soon.
