I didn't say we didn't have one. But we were competitive until very late in the game.
I think it is hard to call a game competitive or not without watching it.
Don't you know the dipsh1t knows everything even when he doesn't witness it himself?
For the record, we outplayed Minnesota in the second half. They were never able to take their starters out of the game. In fact, we had a 4th down in Minn territory with about 8 minutes to go and had a choice to kick the FG or go for it. Our kicker missed the FG and had he made it we would have been looking at a one possession game at 35-27 even with all the fluke crap that happened in the first half. We didn't have a good game, but to say we weren't competitive because you only looked at a first half score is amateurish at best. But what else should we expect Sig?
I am going off of all the info I have been given. Your 'almost got it back to a 1 possession, if we haduv, but we didn't is the closest any of you have gotten to saying how you were semi competitive. Everyone was telling me Saturday that it was an embarrassing mauling.
It may have been embarrassing, but it wasn't anything resembling a mauling.
Again, the game swung on three consecutive plays.
1) From our own territory the umpire inadvertently screened one of our WR's from completing his route, resulting in a pick six.
2) First play after the kickoff, QB was hit as he was throwing, ball went straight up and into the arms of an awaiting defender.
3) Next play, a blown coverage probably born out of confusion from the crazinessof the previous plays, makes an easy TD pass.
That was 14 points over three conservative plays from scrimmage. I'm not at all suggesting we should have won, but we showed in the 2nd half that we were more than capable of playing with them, sometimes you get an unlucky bounce(or a ref directly causing a pick six) and that's all it takes. At the end of the day we covered the spread and had positives to take away from the game.
But, not that you need me to tell you, believe what you want.
