I'm sure Coach and the team are not getting ahead of themselves. Fans can however and that's what a fan is for........to dream, to imagine and to support

Thank you!

Well, if you're trying to figure out whats going to happen the rest of the season, I really don't think we're going to know anything until after we play MTSU, a team that's had our number over the last decade or so.

Don't get me wrong, I'm encouraged by what we've seen so far. But this is a team that people thought would be lucky to get 6 wins pre-season. All we've really seen is a team that's blown out a cupcake and taken a loss (although a competitive one against a team that's supposed to be good) and I really just don't trust the information we've gotten from those two games yet. If we lose in a couple of weeks, 6 wins starts to look like a struggle again.

So while we, as fans, can certainly afford to look past MTSU in the sense that it's not really going to have any effect on the field, and while I'm not really trying to police what people talk about, for me I think it's premature to start speculating about 8 or 9 win seasons (ESPN aside) until we know the outcome of that game, but certainly ymmv.

This

Until I saw the offense the first game, I was thinking 6 games would be the ceiling. After watching them put historic numbers on AP, and then run over UCLA's really good defense, they have the ability of wining every game left on the schedule. The offense has looked so good that I believe many are adjusting how many games we should realistically win.

RE: Check out # 46
I have gone onto conference realignment boards in the past few years and made a case for Memphis to stronger conferences with all we have to offer.

Most of the responses if not all I have received was Memphis has the worst football program in the nation, and had no chance to move up.

After just 2 games this year, I have heard supporters of large schools argue with Cincy fans that Memphis is the only school that looks like it belongs.

I can't even tell you how refreshing it was for me to read those comments.

I have no idea how the rest of the year will go, but I know its not just UCLA fans who know who Memphis is now.

Yup.... now we're on the map.

That is exactly why the MTSU game is huge. We have to win and MTSU is better then people think.

Agreed. Another step for this team to take is to "bring it" every game (see results versus Temple and UConn circa 2013).
