I am delighted that UAB seems at this point to have gotten a good coach after just 4 hires. Look how many "frogs" the AU and UA ADs had to "kiss" since Jordan and Bryant to find their present two winners. It may be that the "Prince" in Troy may be turning into a "frog" this season.

RE: Another national article with Bill Clark mention
I don't understand how some of these people get writing gigs.

Quote:6. I just want to sit in Auburn offensive line coach J.B. Grimes’ position meeting for two weeks. How do you possibly average 7.2 yards per rush against San Jose State? Auburn ran for 358 yards in the 59-13 win. Folks, they have something special going on at Auburn.

Auburn averaged 7.4 yards per rush in the SEC championship game last year against a team with similar resources. Nobody should be surprised that the same Auburn team almost matched those stats against San Jose State. (sorry for the $EC talk, but it's ridiculous to be shocked by those numbers)

Quote:7. One year ago today, Manny Diaz was dismissed as the defensive coordinator at Texas. Today, he’s one of the happiest coaches in the country because his defense recorded three takeaways including a pick-6 in LA Tech’s stunning 48-20 win on the road against UL-Lafayette.

Yes, one good defensive game makes up for the fact that he is probably making one-fifth of last year's salary. Happiest coach in the country indeed.

Quote:14. A blind man can see that Tennessee wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni has seriously upgraded the talent on the perimeter for the Vols. Tennessee is loaded with talent at wide receiver.

Just last year, Tennessee had WRs taken in the first and second rounds of the NFL draft. Clearly the talent needed an upgrade.

I guess I should be happy with the positive national coverage instead of nitpicking, but this guy clearly needs some help.
