With Mudiay gone, I'd be surprised if he's not one of the top few freshman in the conference this year.

The strength coach is a great follow on twitter. There was a pic of Guyn lifting and his arms are huge too

Can't wait to see what this team can do

You ever see commercials for the next diet fad? They always show a terrible before picture. Baggy, old, out of style clothes. Pale skin. Anything you can think of. The after picture is always much better done. The clothes fit well and are more fashionable. If the person is white, they've been tanning. The picture is taken at a better angle. Tons of subtle tricks to make things more impressive.

A lot of that is going on here. The picture is in an old high school gym, at about eye level, with a very baggy shirt on.

The after picture is in a skin tight shirt. The angle is slightly below eye level, which gives the impression you are looking up at him, giving a more intimidating look. His skin is darker because of the lighting. He looks slightly taller (I have no idea if he grew or not). All of this makes him look a lot more dominating. He has clearly put on muscle. But whoever did this did a good job at fluffing up the picture.

He weighs something like 225 - 230. You don't have to worry about that at all. Shaq was like 160 when he got here.

Overrated is 100% correct. I doubt it was done intentionally, but the difference in the fit of his shirt, the lighting, and the angle all have a material impact on how ripped he looks. This was my very first thought when I saw the comparison.

This has absolutely no bearing on whether or not he has gained muscle (he has) or whether he has been working his tail off (we can assume he has).

Who knows if it was done intentionally. I'm guessing the picture angle looking up at him probably was. That is an easy way to make a figure look more imposing. Either way it's clear he has put on some muscle. I said as much. Apparently it offends people when you point how and images can be manipulated.

Despite the "baggy shirt chicanary", the one common thing is the sleeveless type of basketball shirt he is wearing. And it is clear that his arms and shoulders are much more developed at this point. Can't hide the arms in either picture.

Or they just took a picture.

Exactly.

By a person who wasn't quite as tall - which only represents about 95% of the human population.
