Definitely Poltergeist. It is still the only movie that ever caused me to feel fear. The girl dying in real life didn't help.

My sisters made me watch Nightmare on Elm Street at 4 years old... the original. Had a lot of Freddy nightmares.

No movie ever traumatized me. I went directly into the water after seeing Jaws.

I extricated a guy at a car wreck that had a piece of metal impaled into his brain through his eye socket. That traumatized me. I can never forget that. The image is burned into my brain.

I'd say either In Cold Blood or Helter Skelter, those true story movies are scarier than the Horror movies every time.

Children of the Corn, primarily because one of my older cousins intentionally sneaked us in the drive-in to see it a couple days before we had to help my Grandaddy break sweet corn in the garden. One of my uncles wanted to know why I had two hawkbill harvest knives and a hunting knife on my belt to break corn.

"The Devil's Gift", because i was 6 and had that damned cymbal-banging monkey in my bedroom. In fact i bet it's still in a metal pail buried under a stack of wooden blocks where i put it 28 years ago.

Can't recall a specific childhood movie but as an adult, I found "Alien" terrifying. It still creeps me out.

The concept of the original alien movie would still be terrifying if it were made today.

I guess in didn't answer correctly since i listed a horror movie and not a childhood movie. 'Fantasia' and 'Return to Oz' are two that are guaranteed to mess up a little kid

I was a big Stephen King fan until that book came out. It was one of the most boring, long winded, "how many words can I fit between two covers" books ever written. Ever since that came out I lost all interest in his work. But I will say The Shining was quite spooky, excellent even.

Event Horizon...freaked me the F out.
