I overheard a stupid Huskie Fan taunt the Northwestern fans leaving the game. He said "Go back to studying!" I'm assuming he meant that they're smart because they go to Northwestern. This must mean NIU students don't study and are dumb.

This guy was too stupid realize he was insulting himself.

Thought I'd share.

My girlfriend went to NU. And I made a "NIU: first in football, last in academics" remark and we both had a laugh. People on this board get upset over the dumbest things.

I'm shocked at all the negativity on this board after a win.

I said something along those lines when their guy got ejected for throwing a punch. Take a joke man.

You are right. Our group had a great time in Evanston Saturday with virtually every NU fan showing good sportsmanship and wishing us well. Huskie Nation lets rise above the nonsense. Next time anyone of us sees someone (from NIU) being stupid lets encourage them do the right thing. The win was big and so many people are now coming up to me and saying great things about the program. My family will attend the UNLV game and look forward to pre-game and game action. Lets enjoy this thing the right way. Lets beat the Rebs and bar-b-que some razor back.

Oh I don't care. It didn't bother me. I just thought it was funny that he didn't know he was insulting himself in the process. Everyone relax… just sharing a story.

They were pretty quiet most of the time in the game except for the big plays, I know one NU fan yelled "At least we have academics"

The best i had was "our linemen are bigger than yours!" :o

Eh, sometime we get caught up in the moment...I remember being so psyched up and lit at the Iowa game last year when we went up 10-0 I was just screaming like a maniac, nothing vulgar just "ya baby!" Or "how's it taste!"...remembering this one moment when I was staring at some Iowa fans directly in their eyes and practically foaming at the mouth as I was screaming....I now think of that moment and get severe douche chills!!!

It happens. I've said a lot of regrettable things. Some of them to Alabama fans, some to Wisconsin fans, A LOT to Toledo fans. I made a lot of open ended threats to my TV on Saturday. Its part of cheering on your team. Its knowing when to stop, knowing when its no longer about sports and when you are looking like a fool.

I do not think it is quite as bad as the fan I heard telling Ball State to go back to Ohio, but it does say more about the sender than the recipient.

Don't rip on NU fans for being smart. Make fun of their high cost of tuition. Say something like, "You paid four times the tuition for this?"

I know NU fans have a common cheer late in the game, when their loss has been determined (also common) that goes, "That's alright. That's okay. You will work for us someday."

Or is it "You'll be sued by us someday."?
